You say rails...I can ony think you mean cushions?
Blue label Diamonds are the newer versions.
Red label Diamonds are the older versions.
Banking and kicking is a little different.......not much.

The original 7 footers bank short...New ones have corrected the problem...
They used to use K55 profile cushions. Is that still the case or did the change profiles to K66?
As stated previously, the red diamond plays different from the blue. I find the red diamond to bank shorter than the blue and the cushions are a little more springy. Me, I prefer the blue diamonds, but play fairly often on the reds as well.
I have not had the opportunity to play on a 9' Diamond yet but my modified GCII with Artemis cushions plays very similar to a blue label Diamond BB. It seems to me the red label Diamonds play very springy on soft to medium shots but the difference between the blue and red seems to lessen on harder shots.On the red Diamonds it almost seems like the ball speeds up on cushion rebounds with soft to medium shots. I agree that the reds seem to bank/kick shorter than the blues. Everyone talks about how great the Diamonds play but I just did not see where they played so much better than a nice Gold Crown. The only complaint I had with my GC in its original configuration was that for such big pockets it would reject a lot of shots, I'm not sure if it was the pocket miters or the very deep pocket shelves that caused this.
Greg Sullivan told me himself that the profile of the cushions are different from the red to blue.

Sounds like you misunderstood, Check your resources' diamond red label and diamond blue label tables uses the same k55 cushions.
Diamond changed the subrail specs with the blue label and never changed the cushion k55 profile. I'll take bets on that if you'd like.

If you change the profile of the subrail you change the profile of the cushion. I will not bet because I'm sure you are correct. But the profile is changed and it makes a world of difference,

Now you change your wording... You said profile of the CUSHIONS are different... The profile of the cushion did not change..the specs where the cushion attaches to the sub-rail did change.
You might of meant to say it differently but you worded it wrong.

The red lable ones are awesome, you just need to get used to them... You can't play on a Gold Crown and then go play on one. It'd be like playin on a trampoline
this is true on the blue label and the 9 footers also. Diamonds will always feel like a trampoline after playing on a GC.
I find myself using bar box speed on a 9 foot diamond in order to keep my speed under control.
Bank short compared to what...a Valley? Johnnyt

There is an assembly consisting of the rubber cushion and the wood rail it is glued to. They are independent entities. You can change one without changing the other.
Sure, there is a net change in how the ball reacts when hitting this assembly, but that does not change the fact that the rubber cushion profile is unchanged.
