Diamond Home Ball Polisher - 1st!

ball cleaner

In response to Manwon:

Actually Diamond has some ball cleaning product - they have been field testing it and it seems to be very good. Last I heard they were waiting for labels and packaging stuff. That is not my area so I am repeating what I heard from Paul Smith about 3-4 weeks ago.

This has been mentioned on previous threads but I always used a product called Dri-wash. it is one of the spaceage 'waterless' products. It does not 'wax' the balls. But they come out very polished and smooth. Wax can cause funny action. I thought it was because wax has carnuba - but I think Bob Jewett corrected me. Anyway it did not cause build up and a very little 'dab' would clean and polish all in one motion.

By the way - NEVER use windex or similar. seems many don't know that.

Take care-

Brian at Diamond said I got the first unit. It is really great. I just received it along with my new 9 foot Diamond table light.

It was expensive to ship everything and I'm short on funds right now but happy I did it!

The light was shipped and I have to put it together and hang it. I'm looking forward to the challenge!

Could you/would you please post a couple of more pictures with the machine not turning and/or show the controls? I'd also like to know the measurements (outside). Is it on wheels so it could slide under a table or a pool table? Thanks, Jim

A ballstar ball cleaner - which is plastic and really not very commercial - is between $400 and $450 on several internet sites. The Diamond is so much better you cannot compare them.

The motor alone costs a lot more than $50. I cannot tell you the exact costs but guarantee they are way over what you think they are. The unit is all carrier bearings to insure a quiet - heat free operation. The Diamond products are one of the best values in the billiard industry.

I get upset with crazy remarks - please only state facts if you know them, and you obviously don't know what you are talking about.

We have a BallStar that is (1) Y/O and Cleans 25-29 Set of Ball 2-3 times per week. The Felt Pads do not last very long, the Motor has been replace twice.

So I would like to get the information on the NEW Diamond Unit. If there is a Link Please shoot it to me or post it. As we need something dependable that will last more than a year without crapping out.

Call Diamond

Just navigate to the Diamond web site and call Diamond. Ask for Brian Miller. He can tell you what you want to know and he can take your order and ship one to you. Brian is really a nice guy and very helpful!

You can buy 2 home version ball polishers for $900.00 and be able to polish 16 balls, or you can buy the commercial polisher for $650.00 and polish 16 balls, either way, either of them are going to last a very long time. Hardtimes in Sacramento, CA has had one of my ball polishers since about 1995....and it still works, never had the motor changed, or the belts replaced!!!!!

Glen, I got two questions:

1. Is the top lid fasten to the side with Regular Screws or Quick Release Screws?

2. Since this a Home Ball Polisher, I would Thought, there would be a Clear Lid Protector over the Ball Well/Area, for Home Safety [ Children Protection] or is that an option?

I am quite certain the screws are NOT quick release. You should never have to get into the machine.

I guess someone could make a plastic lid to cover the spinning pallet. However, this machine cannot hurt anyone. You can just shove your hand into the spinning balls and the pallet will continue to spin but the balls would stop rolling and just spin in place.

After you see one in operation, you will see what I mean. The pallet does not spin at outrageaous speeds. Unlike the direct drive machines (Bludworth etc). there is no danger of injury. When pallet is mounted directly to the motor shaft, scary things can happen. Usually the balls start hopping and can dislodge. You will ruin a ball in about 10 seconds if it gets stuck somewhere.

This is quiet and safe.

mark is 100% right, because the sprokets and balls are all just sitting in there if you put your hand in he thing the balls just pop out-its painless, the only way someone could hurt themselfs if they really tried hard enough to gth their finger between the spinning bottom plte and the side wall, it would have to be a real skinny finger, there is no was a kid could do it because you would have to do it after the balls were out of it, and there isnt a kid alove that wouldnt be starteled after first touching it-and that dosent hurt, hell, i sit on mine when its running because its unser the A/C vent in my pool room and its hot in there when we first come in, I have ran mine for hours and hours and it is super quiet , like I said I wish everything I owned worked as well as this polisher, honest to goodness its that good, and no i dont get paid to endorse it, I should but I dont.:p

Double back velco and a 15" square 1/4" plexi and your safe lid is built for what under $20 homedepot or lowes.

I run mine all the time with kids and dogs have never been hurt yet, my house or my friends house.

the one had Hardtimes that glen been talking about gets a ton of use every monday by the cleaning crew plus when the real players show up we all clean them again before use way to much fried food grease on the balls. No one has ewver complanied about breakage I think the pads have been replaced and thats it.

Thank Mark, Craig, and Fatboy. For answer the safety question. Maybe the Plastic Lid should an option, or a 15" square plexiglass as Craig mention.

Again Thank for answering.

I heard John Schmidt's new polisher he made works great! and cheap too

He better have bought a lifetime warranty on whatever motor he has on the polisher. I am guessing it will wear out eventually have to clean the cue ball after every shot and the others balls after every game.
