Diamond Las Vegas Open

The explanation that Ko had to stop Appleton from picking up the 9 ball is absurd.
Yes it is.

The announced rules for the tournament are WPA WSR 10 ball which require the 10 to be spotted. I wonder what the ref based his ruling on. No shot was taken after the combo, so that reason for condoning the foul is gone.

I would think it would be foreseeable that someone might forget about the "no early 10-ball rule" and rack up after sinking a 10-ball combination. In that case, a good ref would research what the ruling should be, and then it's a ho-hum, cut and dried decision when it happens. Do the refs get together before a tournament and discuss potential tricky rulings?

Darren raked the balls up....Ko did not say anything Immediately, after the 10-9 combo, but if he did Darren would of not fouled.

Darren should of known that at the players meeting. It should never be your opponents job, to tell you your going to foul and therefore you don't foul, makes no sense. Shooters fault....:scratchhead:.

A good pool ref should already know the World Standardized Rules and I think those cover the situation. The WSR were announced as the rules in use.

Woodward just played the 10 ball combo with ball in hand .... Thought he won!

He was told it isn't a win. Continuing to runout.

Have these guys never played a tourney with the no early 10-ball rule? How can you forget such an important rule?

Was it the ref that warned him not to pick up the balls? Is that allowed?

I would assume this entire tournament is not free streaming, but i can't find anything saying otherwise.

The entire tournament, one table, is free streamed. I believe there was also a co-announcement that next week's WPA World 10 Ball Championship would be free too through the same channel.
