Diamond Pro

Only if it really is a diamond. Best to ask in the mechanics forum for some advice on how to check.

I saw an ad on Craigslist years ago for one $2000 Diamond.

It looked like shit, and was beat all to hell.

Like most things, it probably is worth about that and depends on condition.

I looked for several months for a used Diamond table and eventually gave up and got a Gold Crown III.

I am just as happy with it. IMO, it plays excellent and banks better than the Diamond. The table came out of a pool room and probably original pocket size, IMO, very generous. I have about $1500 in it including all new cloth.

I wish you the best of rolls,

Ken

I would think so.

I live in Alaska and paid more then that for a used 9' Rebco. Now I love my old style table, as it reminds me of the tables I grew up playing on.

But I would of preferred a 9' Diamond as that is what the Palace in Anchorage has and they have the only real pool tournaments in Alaska.

Getting a 9' Diamond to Alaska and finding some one to deal with one piece slate is near impossible and out of my price range and you don't see any used Diamond tables in Alaska.

I did hear Diamond made up a 2 piece slate for a lady in Anchorage though. I had a chance at a used one in Iowa for over $3,000.00, but passed due to shipping costs. So I would grab one in a hurry locally for $2,000.00.

I wouldn't take 2 diamonds for my extended rail GC III.

Is this a pro am or professional? Either way, if this is actually a diamond, this is a good price. I bought my professional for $2000 and love it. Can't go wrong for that kind of money. A little curious that it would be listed as a diamond pro though

Can't go wrong with a Diamond table, but at that price I would very cautious, not sure I can trust it for that price, make sure it doesn't need repair or if it can be repaired, wish you all the luck.

Can anyone tell me the basic differences between a Diamond Pro and Pro/Am?

I am having difficulty getting that information from the Diamond website.

Look at the two different models on their Web site, they're right there.

Without actually seeing the table in person, nobody here can tell you what it's worth. All they can say is, $2k is an acceptable figure for a used commercial table. In fact, I would venture to say that the price could even be higher than that if it's in great condition.

Now mind you, I didn't say $2k was specific to Diamond. There are Olhausen tables, Brunswick tables and even some others you may not have heard of, like Gandy, that will be great for the serious pool player.

I would start by determining the age of the table and its history. In my opinion, every year a table has spent in a poolroom should be equal to about three to five years in a home. That is to say, if the table was used in a poolroom for 20 years, it should be worth much less than a table that was in someone's basement for 40 years. But, there will always be exceptions to this rule.

BTW, the difference between the Diamond Pro and the Diamond Pro/Am is a ball return. The Pro has drop pockets. The Pro/Am has a ball return. That's about it.

sold

what a co-inckadinks.... I just sold my Diamond Pro (with ball return) for $2000.00

It was a good table for a great price imo... I priced it for an AZ sale, but eventually had to go to ebay where it sold pretty quick. The ebay buyer beat a real guy with cash by 5 minutes.

The pro has 3-piece slate, the pro-am has one... they also look completely different, which is why I sold mine.... I built the room (actually the whole building) just for the pro-am... the golden oak pro never looked right to me... yes, I'm anal that way

this was mine.... $2,000.00 is a great price imo for a good solid table
