There is a set of posts made here on AZ by DeadAim all named "Kicking Academy" . These contain several diamond systems and some wonderful insights into kicking in general. Use the 'search' function to find them, or go to the Members List, find DeadAim, then show all threads started by DeadAim. Here is a sample (there are 9 Kicking Academy threads iirc) :

I am a big fan of Bob Hennings book "The Pro Book", but have not read the "Advanced" version.

Rumor has it that Gradys video on kicking is excellent, and it is available at Bobs web site :

Donald Duck in Mathmagic Land has an interesting little blurb on the Diamond system.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052751/

Years ago I heard that Willie Hoppe playing billiards was the template that Donald’s cartoon was drawn over for the Billiard scene. Same principal as in FlashDuck.

Wow, now this is a long awaited topic. I do not know how long you have been playing, but I would suggest that you spend a little time on a 3 cushion table. Nothing like real-time learning. Kicking is a beautiful part of billiards and defensive kicking is supreme.

Books are fine, but working and learning with a 3 cushion player will put you way ahead of reading books and studying internet sites fast. Why? Because you are experiencing it and testing it, and stroke changes everything. You'll first learn some pretty basic shots that you can then turn into a host of many shots. Later you'll extend to advanced shots and that's even more shots. Soon no one will ever bury you and they will cringe with not hopes of getting ball in hand but rather what they will be left with to shot at.

For your convenience, all the relevant posts from the series are attached as a word document.

I hope J.R. doesn't mind. If he does I'll take it down.

29 Pages of great diamond systems info!

Go HERE to download the word document.

It will only be available for a week....then Yousendit.com removes the file.

There are many diamond systems. The corner-five, the plus-two, system Sid, the equal angle/mirror, Shepard's true mirror, the various spot-on-the-wall systems, the opposite-three (which has to be corrected for pool tables), and great steaming piles of other systems.

If you can, find someone to show them to you. I don't think videos are enough.

Hi Colin,

No problem, that is what I posted them for; to educate players who have lacked the kicking skills needed in 9 Ball. Twenty-Nine pages!!! I didn't realized it was that much.

Bob’s right, so many systems; so many numbers to remember. I can’t remember how many systems I mentioned but it was only a rain drop in the ocean compared to the various systems out there for “3 Cushion Billiards”

KTM,

These systems are like a road map to get you from LA to New York, a basic idea of where you are going; you still need to know how to find the particular street you are going to.

TRY THIS: Knowing where the pocket is, good for two rail kicks. No numbers or systems to remember.

Stand in front of a corner pocket; anyone, it does not matter.
Place the cue ball at the first diamond to your right
Shoot the cue ball at the first diamond to the right of the diagonal corner pocket with no english
Cue should head toward side pocket; remember, speed is important. Not to hard not too soft, just right; my friend Goldie thought me that.
Now you know where the pocket is, from here you just have to adjust the hit point from wherever the cue ball lies.

NOW, try it from a side pocket.

Kick two rails around a corner pocket and it should head towards the opposite diagonal corner pocket; again, adjust and experiment.

After about 10 to 20 thousand shots you’ll be kicking like Efren.

Thanks, Deadaim and Colin for your efforts making this information available to us. Unfortunately, all of these links are dead for some reason. :( Is there any way you could post that Word doc again? :)
