Diamond Table Wait Time

Not surprised. When I ordered my ball polish machine last December, they quoted me two to three months, and ended up being six months, I just got it last week. However I will say it was worth the wait.

Yes, they really should try to be more honest about giving a realistic finish/delivery date as opposed to an extremely optimistic one that they are very unlikely to meet. Important thing is to lock in your price when you order it, so they can’t change the price on you.

Hopefully they actually modified the rails and not just shimmed the pockets with thicker facings.

If they are modifying the rails they are definitely going to to charge for the service as it not a simple job from what I've seen on here.

Thicker facings to tighten the pockets are acceptable if you are only trying to tighten the pocket by 1/4 inch, which means 1/8 inch thicker facings on each side - preferably using a single 1/4 inch facing as opposed to 2 stacked 1/8” inch facings.

Even then, 1/4 inch facings are far from ideal. 1/8 inch or 3/16 inch facings (which Diamond uses) are far preferred.

What I'm getting at is if I'm buying a new table and want say 4.25" pockets I would want the proper length rails and not just thicker facings so if it was a table someone had in stock with larger pockets the only real way I would be happy considering the cost of them would be properly modified rails or new rails.

I ordered my 8 foot Pro Am from Shay's Billiards in Las Vegas (Mark Estes). It was a special order (I think all 8 foot tables are at Diamond) and it took 16 weeks.

I switched from league cut 4.75 inch to pro cut cut 4.50 inch. To do this properly you have to fully swap the rails.

I ordered my Diamond Pro 7' on 4/22/2023 and still waiting...

I added facings to my early Diamond Pro (originally ordered with the GC pocket-size). Didn’t make a lot of difference with the corners, but it DID cut my side pocketing success by way more than half.
BTW: If you do choose that option, just be sure the installer has the side facings lined up accurately (and the glue has fully dried before he stretches the rail cloth). Mine left a protrusion I didn’t notice until I finally had a shot where I tried to pass the side pocket along the rail (and the labor warranty had expired).
 
3 weeks. I just got a black one though that are pretty much the standard color and I knew a guy lol he gets 3 every two weeks and he moved me up the waiting list lol

Where is "here?" In the US I've yet to see a Rasson table in a pool room. I know Shaw's place has them, and I'm sure there are some others. But I've never seen one in a room or even heard of someone who owns one. In fact, the recent Vegas events was the first time I saw one in person, which was at a vendor booth.

I did get about 20 mins of play time on it and actually really liked it. It is a quality table, for sure. But from what I can tell Diamond is still king most anywhere in the US, and Rasson is the one fighting for relevance (for better or for worse).

I'm assuming Canada, Ontario maybe. I know Palason Billiards out of Quebec sells Rasson so maybe it's a dealer thing as I think the only Diamond dealer in Canada is Manning Cues.
 
I’ve played on a Rasson and a bunch of tables from Korea when I was in San Diego. Those were very good quality.

Diamond is popular because of availability, granted wait time right now, but they are easy to build and construct. It’s great for a pool hall but looks pretty weak in a home.

They should be delivered assembled.
