Did i find a diamond in the rough? Cue on Ebay

Tried to goto the link but it said the auction listing was no longer available.

Post pics from the auction maybe if you can still access the listing?

here it is

here was the description of the listing

Here is a vintage pool cue. It has a tag on it that reads Hoppe Elton, Silver Label Line, Take Apart Screw on tip, Distinguished Cuesticks by Elton and then a 19 oz sticker. Cue has scuffs and light scratches. It has nice inlayed points. Looks pretty straight, might have a slight bow. Neat old cue, fresh out of an estate.

Welcome to my One Man Antique Bazaar. Like the name says, I'm one man who brings some of the most unique and rare antiques to ebay. All my merchandise comes from mid-western estates. So keep in mind I travel a lot and I am rarely here to answer emails on the weekends. I also sell a lot of things I know little about, so be sure to ask questions! Thanks for visiting and happy bidding.

Elton's are the cheapiest of the cheap. This cue was made to look like a Palmer/Paradise and they were one of the original knock off imports.

At 50.00 you paid 49.00 to much...

With all due respect to the topic creator I found this to be very funny:grin-square:

Don't be dissapointed. I work the Hopkins show every year. At least 6-8 people come to me thinking they have retirement material. When I tell the George Balabushka never signed his cues, or that Palmer with a red triangle isn't an old Palmer. Well they look at me like I have two heads and walk away until they hear it enough times that they finally get it.

Occasionally you'll find a killer, but on ebay, it's rarer and rarer. In fact 2 years ago I got a Bushka Hoppe for 900 listed as an unknown. It's always a crap shoot.

Adams Balabushka

WHAT???? FOR REAL???

Hidy Ho <-- need to recalculate his retirement portfolio

No worries.
I was told by someone with a signed George Balabushka that it was his wife that signed them.

Portfolio still in tact

I'm also told that occasionally George Balabusker misspelled his own name when signing his cues. That explains my collection.

i have a good (new cuemaker) friend, that maybe might be interested in using the forearm of this cue to make me a decent cue. who knows i might just put it back on ebay for a 1.00 and let it ride. Anyways ive been looking for a titelist cue, thats the only reason i jumped on it. Live and learn right.

Bushka used his more common nickname, onlu friends knew him by when he personally signed my cue in 1990.
