Being a newbie without any credentials, I wouldn't have a bit of a problem if someone asked me to send payment/product first.

Craig, I had a feeling you would stop by, lol! I know it may not make sense, but it is easier for me to trust brian. He had a good rep, ruined it, and is now trying to make it right. That is altogether different than just some random guy with no rep. Kind of like bad credit is better than no credit. Its not that I think escrow is overpriced, but I think spending 20% for the cost of the cue on escrow might be a bit silly. I enjoy our banter Craig, its nice to have a good old disagreement without having someone get way too pizzed and lose it, lol. Ill be back later, gonna go shoot some pool for about 8-10 hours, lol. Have a good day Craig:thumbup:.

Joe to me it is very simple when your born and when you die you only have one thing that is important and that is your name and along with your word. When you have to hide your name, it is because you have shown that your word in one way or another is no good.
For me everyone has a blank slate until they show through their actions that their word is worthless, however, after they do this they are a non-person to me. Because, once your word is no good there is only one way to fix it, and that is to go somewhere that no one knows your name and re-invent yourself. While doing things this way, will not correct or make past transgressions disappear, if you change your ways you will be excepted and you can build a new reputation for yourself. If you are discovered by your past, the way you have conducted yourself will a great effect on how you are perceived in the present.
If you choose to stay where you have shown that your word is no good, no matter how hard you try you will never be excepted, and in any questionable situation all eye's will be upon you.
In the end I suppose Life can certainly be a Female Dog!!!!!!!!!!!![]()
I guess this is where I would like some clarification on the subject. I can totally see someone having a problem with that but that doesn't mean you should bash the person. Just simply say you are not interested in doing business.
Perhaps the topic creator can shine some light on what bashing took place.
I think I was typing practically the same thing as this went up. Good post.
Well if you ever need another cue in that price range, Please contact me.I didnt really need the cue, just a reasonable price for a cue to have. I run into people fairly often that need a cheap cue, and this one fit the bill. If the guy had a couple iTrader, I would have sent the money.

And whether your conditions were a little too strict or not, it sounds like he certainly overreacted. Again, I wouldn't make the deal, but I wouldn't get angry or insulting about it either -- you're trying to protect yourself, not hurt my feelings. While it really sucks to have a deal fall apart when you think it's already wrapped up, it's not personal for either of us. We're just trying to do good business. If you wanted to buy something I had for sale in the future, I'd probably consider the incident and your reliability, since it sounds like you agreed to his offer and then tried to change the terms, and you backed out when he said no, but I understand where you're coming from and there'd be no hard feelings or complaints about it.
If he's actually going to get angry and "bash" you, you probably didn't want to make the deal anyway.

We have already done our previous mega deal, :wink:so I guess we can trust each other.

hehe, that was more than a mega deal, you sir are a lifesaver! I have yet to find anyone else that has what I bought from you, regardless of how little they cost! I will certainly keep you in mind. Actually I have seen those full splice veneered cues you have, and those look good for as cheap as they are. Thanks rackem.

I recently worked out a deal with a fellow AZer to buy his cue for a round a hundred bucks, nothing fancy, just a plain ol production cue. I checked his iTrader and it was ZERO. I checked his posts and he only had 9 posts. Well a few months back I got screwed out of 280 smackers from a guy on fleabay so Im a little leary. I told the guy I would take it but he would have to send the cue before I sent the money. I know that is a risk also, but I have bought several things on here, and when I was selling one of my Schons, I even had people volunteering to send me their cues for inspection for a trade. I was not rude to the guy, but evidently he took serious offense to my offer. He proceeded to bash me and tell me how much he didnt trust me, which I found ironic. I know its only a hundred bucks, but Im not gonna donate to the unknown, and escrow would take away any equity in the cue, Id have been lucky to make 20 bucks on it if I did sell it. What would you have done?
Joe
I know im new here to but , how do you expect the guy to get a good refrence is no one is willing to give him a chance ? I would be in the same boat as this guy, as im new here and i have no i trader refrences but my e-bay is 100% with 127 positives and i my self would never rip anyone off , i know with todays world you never really know who you are doing buisness with. People got to start somewhere. I guess sometimes you have to take a chance , but sometimes it is just not worth it if you are dealing with a high dollar cue or something. Just my opinion <<
