(They made me play with an LD shaft for the first time, so I practiced center-ball strikes the whole time :shrug:)

I won a straight pool tournament while in the Marines on a base called Chu Lai South Vietnam during the war.
I still have the small trophy they gave me.
 
Neat thread, glad it got resurrected.

Aside from actually being born in Lithuania I have only left the US 3 times, Canada with parents years ago, and England and Sweden for work,

While in Sweden I went out with a few people from Germany and of-course suggested we go to a pool hall where the wheelchair world champion happened to be that night doing some exhibition for a group of businessmen. A week or so after I got home I saw him play on ESPN.

While in England I could not really find a place to play, at that time pool was not very big there and the snooker places were more like private clubs,
