Digital Pool at the DCC

Terrific addition imo. Nothing is perfect but the system worked great for the most part.

Only once in my 11 matches did I have an issue and it "fixed itself" with a little time(wasn't showing my name or opponent a few minutes after our match was supposed to have started).

The website is a little busy perhaps at times so it can be pretty laggy or maybe there's more to it that is over my head but I thought things were much smoother this year.

Not speaking about the horrible food options or lack of options etc. Or anything else just DP and it's contribution to DCC.
 
Did you play banks and/or one hole? Did you use it for ball count if so? How did that go?

If the glitch you saw was the same name for both you and your opponent, the fix is to tap on each side of the iPad where the names are and it will fix it.
 
I finally clicked through the one pocket bracket on my iPad. Wow! Digitalpool did a great job! It’s easy to see each round, each player’s match history, who is left, who has a bye left, etc.

It is a bit slow, but it’s usable.

This is the first time in the history of the DCC the “brackets” are easy to follow.

Good job to DigitalPool!

I agree. The old DCC bracket web page was a mess.
 
They seem to have worked out a way to schedule the next round when current rounds are not complete, which should really help with keeping things rolling. Don't know if that is a result of using DigitalPool, or they found some other way to do the draws.
 
I was following along a lot from home and it took me a minute to get used to it but I did. Having the players have a (1) next to their name now means they have their buy back verses years of understanding (1) meaning they have used their buy back. It was laggy at times but worked. Seems to be a nightmare to use on the phone due to all the screens. Not saying it doesn't work, I just haven't figured it out yet. Great on my laptop. So far the schedule seems to be moving well. I think there are more tables this year too. Lots of changes this year so can't wait to see how they all fair.

hmm? i thought it was just a provisional draw you see. we don't know who got the bye or chose to buy back

This morning there were several remaining in round 2 in 9 Ball, while round 3 was well under way. Same thing happened regularly in the banks and 1P. IIRC previously they wouldn't do any draw at all until the current round finished completely. But I could be misremembering all that.

I'm guessing RB means remaining buybacks. The RC column is a complete mystery. It is all zeros in 1P, has some ones in 9 Ball.

This -- provisional draw -- has been part of the software for at least 10 years. I talked to the developer for quite a while. He was disappointed that the event staff didn't bother to use it.
 
All I know is that I see round 4 matches in progress, and there are round 5 matches showing as scheduled. Maybe the schedule here is temporary?

I wonder if the prize money paid out is being shown anywhere. That seems to always be hard to find.

Yeah it worked flawlessly in that regard. Easy to add or subtract and easy to fix user error double clicks and the like. Pleasant experience.

Oddly they didn’t have a ball counter for the banks matches, not sure why.

Going back to check on these round 5 matches that were assigned while round 4 was still going. They were all played as assigned:

So, I don't see how all of the players highlighted in red in round 4 could have been in the draw for round 5 for these players. The draw does not appear to be so random after all.
 
This is great to know, but why the hell can't you find anywhere who those 31 remaining players are? Come on guys!

could it be they draw the winners to play each other (but random draw) and then have losers play each other, if they buy back? otherwise i don't get how it would work

Not really. Skyler Woodward is playing right now, but he isn't in that list at all (of players with no ranking).
 
Digital Pool shows 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners and the finals haven’t even taken place yet and the 2 players that are in the finals aren’t even listed.

WTF is so hard about all this after 25 fkin years.

You can’t ever get any results and payouts. It’s like pulling teeth year after year.
