Nicest trnmnt brackets I have seen. Someone posted a link in the Buffalos 1pocket updates.

Agreed. Definitely a few steps ahead of other brackets I’ve seen. The stats section is interesting and has good information broken down if you’re into those things.

Any thoughts on Digitalpool's progress since 2021? Things they're doing well? Things that could be improved?

Depends on the user base. Any website with people meeting is extremely risky for users.

Verification of location and people is a mandatory requirement.

I've been using their website for a few months now. It has so many buttons on the side, but when I want to find the tournament I'm playing in, for the life of me I can't find it. The only way I can get in is to use the link from the TD that was texted to my phone. Its very frustrating.

After the fact, if I want to see a week later how I did in that same tournament, it still is near impossible to find it.

Live on site when using iPads on a table to change the score, there is about a 10 second lag when you increment the score button. That makes it tricky to know if you actually pressed the button or not.

I have to play a Debbie Downer and say you must have not seen many then.

Here's for example an issue I reported to the developer (present here) and exchanged several emails on the subject. Nothing changed since, as you can see.

To navigate to Stage 2 (KO round) one has to find a button (mostly has to guess there is one) which presents a drop-down menu to select from.

Another of biggest issues DP tournament page gives me is when there are multiple events (like, say, at Texas Open where they have One Pocket, 9-Ball, ladies event, etc.) it is impossible to open each of those in a separate tab. Just because right-clicking the tournament's page does not bring a usual menu with "open in a new tab" option. So to achieve my task I have to go to the main page, enter "Tournaments", then "Search", type the search string (ex., Texas Open 2023), and click on the 9-ball event. Go to step 1 and repeat every time for any other event you want to open. Going nuts when faced with this task.

Good thing though, there are definitely worse brackets than Digitalpool around. Unfortunately still in use by some tours.

I know when multiple events are going on at 1 site it is a pain.
Not having finished scores is a problem but thats on the event not digital.

Mine hides that button too. I use it from my phone a lot and it for sure happens there. I forgot if it happens from a desktop also.

That shouldn't happen with a proper server/network admin. Its likely a lack of updating a config file or a cyber blunder.

It's data entry error.

Would using a scanning app be better? They have a form, phone scans it and no more data entry errors.

Or they scan a QR code with the information they want to send. The numbers can all be pre baked into different codes.

Think barcodes at the supermarket but for pool scores.

It still has to be entered wether by hand or scan.

You think of self checkout at a grocery where items don't get scanned.😉

Some cool things:
- text message system for table assignments
- finding people in FargoRate, though the search can be a little clunky
- performance calculator
- time predictions
- alerts for slow matches
- players can easily report their own progress

Challonge ads have become very intrusive and obnoxious which is a stark contrast to DP.

That would be a weight sensor in the ball tray and players would have to manually indicate when the inning is over.
