Disappointed with AccuStats/DCC

I just got the one pocket set from the last DCC from AccuStats. I have every year. I sure am disappointed. With all the great players and matches they have only four items. Cliff Joyner playing Kim Bennet (?) and Mike Surber (?). A quick match less than 20 minutes a piece with Efren against Parica and Bustamante who did not give Efren any challenge. The last one with Reyes vs Joyner is the only one worth it.
I got nothing against Mr Bennet or Mr Surber. But with all the talent in Louisville and all the great matches couldnt AccuStats make more of an effort to get some of the great players on tape?
Where was Tony Chohan, Scott Frost, Shannon Daulton, Cory Deuel,Jeremy Jones, etc? I cant make it every year and AccuStats is the only way I can get to see great matches. As a one pocket enthusiast Im really disappointed. I hope Pat can get better matches in 2008.

Wow, that stinks. I'd be just as dissapointed -- you were looking to see some super premier matches.
Ohh well, gotta shrug it off. They usually make great DVDs and they shot a blank this time, let's hope '08 is a better year for you (and us all).

Pat and Pete Fleming have always done a great job making videos/dvd's, there was probably a very logical reason for that.

It is a little hard to tell in advance if a match is going to be a good one or not. If you could do that, you would be the greatest handicapper alive.

Pat thought (and I agreed) that Efren's matches with Jose and Busti would be good ones. Who knew that he was going to blow them out like that? That is why both matches are on one DVD. You might want to watch them again. One Pocket doesn't get any better than the way Efren played these two matches. In a word he was AWESOME!

You need to seek out the 1992 Legends of One Pocket tapes from Columbia SC and Philly. The Roanoke tapes Accustats did in 1994 were also very good.

I really do like Danny D and Incardona as one pocket commentators but the real beauty of the older tapes is that you had alot more diversity of commentators. Weanie Beanie/ Grady/ Freddie/ Varner / Fusco etc participated in alot of those tapes. Danny D and Billy have great insight, but its the diversity of opinions that adds alot to the older tapes.

I don't see why Pat doesn't try to get some "popular" players on film this year. Even if they were playing a lesser well known player, who wouldn't want to see Hennessey or Lil John on film?

There's a lot of players known to the pool community who are pretty good players who would be a decent draw for Accu-Stats.

Also, what good does it do for the commentators to say "Player A" should do this... and Player A procedes to do either that or something better, or something equivalent..

If you get one or two matches with someone like the aforementioned players, maybe the commentators would be able to "stretch their wings" a little so we can all here them detail exactly how to rob a lesser player.. :D

Believe me I have every one of Pats one pocket tapes. Even from the days when their was no commentary and just one camera. Like Strawberry vs Mizerak and Grady vs Efren money match. I have all the stuff from Legends and Roanoke. Those were the "golden" era of Accu Stats. But with all the great players at DCC couldnt Pat have arranged with the tournament directors to have great matches on the tv table or some of the cash match ups filmed. I cant tell you how many great matches I saw upstairs in a side room that should have been filmed. Corey vs Frost, Shannon vs Chohan, Efren vs Gabe Owen, Rob Saez vs Grady Mathews, Earl Strickland vs John Schmidt, etc.
I am a big Pat Fleming fan and believe he should be in the Pool Hall of Fame for all he has done for us. But cmon Jay this year was a bust. Only four tapes for a festival of one pocket players? It is a poor output.

I liked the Efren/Parica and Efren/Bustamante matches.
