Disrespect?

Reminds me of a saying something I saw recently.

Dance like no is watching.......because they're not. They're checking their phones. :D

There is another one. When you go out with your friends, everyone puts their phone in the middle of the table. First one to reach for theirs buys a round.

That would put an end to it for most people if it meant buying a round.
Like back in the day when most people wouldn't answer their phone because cell phone time was so expensive.

I understand how you might feel disrespected. Different things bother different people.

I think it is totally disrespectful to be playing with your telephone when your opponent is at the table.

In fact, when you are at the table, if your opponent is doing ANYTHING except remaining still in his or her chair and silent, I believe they are being disrespectful not only to you but the game itself.

I guess I'm just old fashion. I try to respect my opponent and allow them to perform their best and I expect the same from them.

It's kind of funny when people take offense at being called out for sharking but I think more should be called out because sharking is disrespectful.

Right on target! Thanks Joey

I played a kid yesterday in a small local tourney. A few racks in he apologized on his shot, saying he had to respond to a text and asked me if I was cool with that. I said sure, do what you gotta do. I win the rack.

Next rack he starts taking calls. No problem, I get him on 3 while he's jabbering away. Several racks later I win out the set. He shakes my hand afterwards still talking to whomever, I couldn't care less.

Several years ago I played on a league team with Ginky in NYC. Every match he played with us he had his requisite bluetooth hanging from his ear. With the spot he had to give up sometimes he lost, and most of the times he won. However, it was funny watching him talk to himself at the table while playing runout pool: "I can't talk right now blah blah blah I'm in a league match" lol.

Did not

I did not read the other post but I think anytime a person is more interested in a cell ph. then a person it is disrespectful . It takes the fun out of playing.

I've tried it a few times and can't make a ball lik that.

You were already getting one spot, why not 2?

I don't worry about what my opponent does, I just have to do my best when I get my turn at the table
