Another "From The Tree To The Table" build..... Kind of a Girly Cue.... hahahaha. Box Elder Burl I harvested, dried, and had dyed and professionally stabilized. Sent down to Pat Diveney, and he did the rest.

The amazing thing with this cue is not just the top shelf burl, but the ivory rings Pat used. Inside the ring set you can see a super thin ring of the burl used in the rest of the cue. For those that have never worked with PRO stabilized wood, it gets very brittle when cut thin, so these tiny slices are pretty amazing....

I might try and take a short video of this one, so you can see the burl flash as you turn it....Enjoy

It's really cool how you transform such a chunk of wood or a tree into a fine piece of cue. Curious though, cos the wood be stabalized without the dye? I thought it looked really wood in its natural colour?

The cues you are getting built are some of the coolest crazy builds out there. Like them all.

You just can go wrong dying Box Elder. It always looks great. Excellent work.

One of my favorite combos on Box Elder is the double dyed black and gold.

This one needs a name...

You should call it the "Girly Curly Burly"...

Thanks for the comments..... Jive, yes you can clear stabilize box elder and it looks very nice. It takes dye so well tho, it's hard to resist dyeing it red black blue purple green etc .....

Thanks I'm glad you like them. I like to have my cues made with all burl pieces (forearm, handle, butt sleeve) that match. From a materials perspective I guess it would be cheaper to mix some in some (non burl pieces) like curly maple, or birdseye, etc, but I just don't like how that looks as much. Probably just me I think...

Each burl pattern is unique so I feel like each cue I have made, ends up being "one of kind".... courtesy of mother nature.

-----> Nobody even noticed the flat tire on the wheel barrow...........hahahahahaha

Great looking cue by Pat. Wow!!!

BTW, who signs a cue better that Pat. Great penmanship every time, I am always amazed.

Pat's is very nice but Ernie of Ginacue wins that category running away.

Of coarse your right Murph but I am always amazed how nice and consistent Pat does it. My penmanship looks like chicken scratch and I don't dare sign one of my cues. Pat's signature adds a sense of style that I always thought was very well done and artistic looking. The cherry on top of the whip cream so to speak.

Finally getting around to getting some JP's.... some sacrifices had to be made...but should look nice when they are finished. Better pics later.

Great stuff even though I personally don't like a cue to be all the same wood even though I love plain Jane's and eXotic woods

I had one pat did that was green with an ebony handle and a lotta ivory. It was the ugliest cue I ver seen. This one is now second!

I approve.
