Do Any Pros Play With A Varney Cue

Newb again, sorry! I asked this same question about Predator Z-2 shafts recently - just trying to figure things out. I always read the "Ask the Cuemaker" forum trying to learn what is the best weapon available. Tonite I see that Varney has begun posting again, just like he did shortly after I joined AZB a few weeks ago, he was then apparently trying to lull everyone back to sleep after screwing somebody - at least that was my impression. But tonite I noticed in his avatar that his cues are the "World Champion's choice". This confused me because in some of the posts discussing Varney he is referred to as a "cue assembler" that buys cheap blanks, makes about three cuts, and thereby converts them into pricey "players". Ho-Humm, if that's the case, I'm very satisfied with my Predator production cue. In any event, do you know any pros that play with Varney cues, seriously!

I think it may be time to put the issues with Kevin Varney to bed. I think the issues that have caused Kevins name to be pulled through the mud have been brought to the forums attention. I also think that Kevin understands his mistakes and wants to correct them. Everyone makes mistakes, and while some want to continue to bring these issues up to the forum, at this point it serves no one. Kevin has a great deal of work ahead of himself if he wants to rebuild his reputation, and I think he should be left alone to try. The ball is in Kevins court, and I suspect that Kevin wants to do what is right for everyone concerned, including himself.

Just my thoughts

If one thing was proven in the whole Varney episode it is that GOOD COMMUNICATION is everything. I think most people want to put it bed now that Kevin gave some GOOD COMMUNICATION.

Side note: For the first time in my life I have a very strong desire to get a custom cue now.

I thought the forum just went thru all this. How many more times is appropriate? I am surprised, with all the history, that you are first to come to KV defense.

Are you kidding? You're a newb with 10 posts (or perhaps an alter-ego of another member), and 6 of those have been bashing Varney (but, hey, it's gotten you some nice rep:thumbup: ), and now you're starting a bashing thread???

The pot has been STIRRED ENOUGH for the moment (give the guy a chance to make good)- there is a lot more on AZ to keep any billiards enthusiast interested and entertained without having to resort to constant flaming, especially for somebody who has obviously never had any interaction with the man (or so you would like it to appear).

Okay, I will quieten! I just observed this same process last time, and then this popped up, so I was just trying to make this one the last. I really do hope things work out, too!!!!!!

I am not coming to anyones defense, he finally came forward and said he was going to correct the problems that caused everything to happen. This is what needed to happen, I did not and do not enjoy calling people out like I did. However, I thought it was necessary under the circumstances because like I have said all along I really think that AZ Billiards is great place, and I think that we as members must Police ourselves. But, having said that if the problem is corrected and does not come back why continue to harp on an issue that causes tension throughout the entire AZ community. The threads that identified these problems are there for all to read, each member can make the decision to deal with Kevin on their own. Like I said before the ball is in Kevins hands now, and it is up to him to make the changes he needs to, the writing is on the wall and i hope things work out for everyone concerned.

Hope this helps

Nice Post, Manwon!!!

I just read Varneys post.....What a joke......1st off it shows what kind of person Kevin is....He couldn't simply reply to Cincys post as asked...It's typical K.V. fashion ....He had to start his own thread by putting the spot light on himself....#2 Do you really accept that as an apology.....it sounded like more excuses, and #3 Cincys post consisted of 37 pages, 551 posts, and close to 30,500 views, and now Kevin wants to come forward and let Cincy know that his blank quality wasn't up to par??? Please ......that excuse is weaker than circus lemonade.....That post was really disapointing, and this was an oportunity for Kevin to come clean, and be a real guy....I think his post hurt him even more.....IMO Cincy I hope your satisfied with the final product......

im not defending anyone here but i know i have a problem joining in threads and helping sling the mud. its prob my biggest fault. therefore i am trying to not get involved with that stuff

yes he should have answered the tread but staying out of the thread is not only the smart thing to do but the hardest to do as well

i am not the type of person to keep my mouth shut. i will go to just about any level that a person brings it too. whether its talking or take it outside type stuff. thats a bad part of my personality. im a fighter by nature but im trying to change that. i couldnt just sit back and stay away like that

I ask the same question and all I found out was that Allison Fisher has him put tips on her (non varney) cues.

Does that count?

I'm Henry the 8th I am,
Henry the 8th I am, I am,
I got married to the widow next door,
She's been married 7 times before,
And every one was a Henry (Henry),
She wouldn't have a Willy or a Sam (no Sam)
I'm her 8th old man I Henry,
Henry the 8th I am

Second verse same as the first...

Classic example of thread hijacking... The question in this thread was. " Does anybody know any pros that play with Varney cues " Someone hears the name Varney... and the bashing starts. I say... No more "Varneying" or(bashing), enough is enough. This has run it's course and the mods need to step in and put a stop to it.

I don't see any hijacking going on.....If you take the time to read the post...The original poster has brought forward lots of topics to address besides "Do Any Pros Play With A Varney Cue ".....

The op states the term "cue assembler"....would it be considered hijacking if somebody wanted to make a comment?

The op also includes in his post that Varney uses cheap blanks, and cuts them into 3 pieces, and converts them into pricey players...If somebody wanted to make a comment on that statement...would it be considered hijacking also?

I can not find any pro that plays with a Varney, much less a World Champion. Maybe KV could enlighten us as to who it is he is referring.

But the whole reason for the thread was to get some more bashing going. He just wanted to be the one to have started the thread. Its a givin that some do and don't respect Varney now. If people are so stuck on running his business down buy an add from AZ and you can put it on the top of the forum. That way AZ does at least benefit and all is not a loss.

gpeezy, in KV's Avatar he proclaims "World Champion's choice". No bashing here, just who is the W/C that chooses his cue?

pretty soon were gonna need a seperate k.varney/s.ellerby bashing section.

but if the shoe fits....
