Peoria is a Mecca compared to Galesburg.

That's very sweet... but also a shame! Most pool halls I frequent (in both Miami and NY) have hot chicks that know their way around a pool table:p ;) :D

JasonLaus says Miami has the hottest chicks, anywhere, pool or otherwise. :D

man am I gonna get flamed for this, but I'm gonna say it anyway. All you single guys who are dressing to impress (hoping to impress) girls at the local poolhall...LOL. No offense (though I know someone will be offended here), but I've been to a TON of different poolhalls and the only girls that'd be worth impressing are those that were drug there by their boyfriends/husbands (meaning already taken anyway). Sure, I guess you may have enough game, style, and well, "game" to c0ckblock said boyfriend, but come-on then you'll be the one dragging her to the poolhall....just a vicious cycle - poor girl. LOL

Anyone in Washington who loves pool and lots of attractive women should check out Parlor Billiards in Bellevue. It's a 5 million dollar pool hall with more tables than you can shake a stick at with former World champion Dan Louie as the house pro. This place has been flourishing for a while now. They actually have a dress code there. Love the way the tables play.

Do you feel the need to look good for your matches? Just curious. I wear Jeans all the time at work and around the home, but when I play pool (even most times practice), I try to look my best with a collared shirt, decent slacks, belt shiny shoes etc. (Pinky ring , but that's another story.) I guess I am old school.

At my local league, we have barefooters... no kidding. Can't say I like it.
Looking your best never hurts, is my opinion, but then again what looks good (especially today), is subjective.

Maybe I have watched the hustler too many times.

Honest replies appreciated.

TY.

Great post!

Yes i feel the need to dress well whenever im at the table, but especially for tournaments. I tend to wear eithier lacoste or nike golf shirts (i like the dry fit spanex-like material, keeps you cool) Dress pants, a shiny belt and a good pair of leather shoes (Kenneth coles) Once in a blue moon will you catch me in jeans anywhere, but if i do wear them, i make sure they are clean, wrinkle free and nice looking. I do not wear t shirts anywhere.

I usually wear either a TAR or Chuck Norris T Shirt, blue jeans, and comfortable assed shoes

I don't think I could do the nice leather shoes, my feet get sore easy so I usually wear all white tennis shoes like Stan Smith Addidas or something.........clean, but I totally agree with the way you decide to dress. There is nothing wrong with looking nice at the table and everything wrong looking like a slob.

Disclaimer: I am in no way connected to this company in whatever shape, size or form. :)

Whenever I go out, I'm always well dressed. Clean, pressed, smelling good and well groomed. I only look like a bum when I'm at home and/or drunk, otherwise, I always look my best.

My personal choice for playing attire is jeans or trousers, polo shirt or more often a button down shirt & shoes. The shoes are the most important part to me, whenever I play in tennis shoes my game seems to be off. Maybe it's psychological or maybe it affects my stance, either way I'm happier in shoes.

Once upon a time my hair getting near my eyes used to drive me crazy. Hard to believe that was ever a problem if you see me now!

I'm a firm believer in dressing up for pool games...
