9' Gold Crown IV, Simonis 860, with custom made rack holder and custom shelves for library of pool DVDs, books, etc. Photo taken on Jan 1, 2008.

What a beautiful view, and a great table. I've heard from Jay, and others, that you have the neatest set-up in So-Cal. My table is a Crown III with new rails/rubber, and 860 cloth. It's not quite perfect yet, but when it is, I hope you will enjoy playing on it, if you ever get over this way, you are sure welcome. I promise you Mikie, you will feel like you are in an old, "spit on the floor" pool room.

PS I will expect reciprocation ;)

I thought I would have seen someone else with one, but maybe I missed it. I have an 8' Brunswick Anniversary. Picked it up for $1000. Not perfect, but surely nice enough.

Approx 1958 - 1960 Brunswick 8 1/2' Sport King that I retored with Simonis 860 . . . fun table to play on with a lot of character!

I'm so glad to see that someone else has a Sport King and posted a picture! Mine is a bit different - it's a 9'er and the panels on the sides were painted an off white when I bought it - I repainted them brown. Also, on mine, the silver pieces at the corners come all the way up and over the rail. I was never really sure it was called a Sport King because the name is on an orange paper sticker that's just stuck on the table underneath, almost as if it was an afterthought. I have no idea when it was made, but for some reason am thinking it was in the 50s.

I would post a picture but I would surely get cited for "table abuse" as it's in serious need of attention. And my pool room is also an embarassment compared to the ones I've seen in this thread. But, the way I see it, at least I HAVE a pool room! Plans are in the works to improve the room and to recover the table.

BTW for what it's worth, we had a support pole removed to accommodate the table. The contractors made up for the missing support by welding metal plates between the support beam flanges to stiffen the beam. I'm not sure it worked completely, though, as my living room ceiling and one wall now has a crack that wasn't there before the work was done. But if the whole house falls down around me, I can get under the pool table and feel safe. It's one sturdy son-of-a-gun! :)

Two table in the house which are shown my avatar. 8' Peters table with 860 cloth and double shimmed. Second table is a 7' All American table which is a really cheep table but it belong to my grandfather so it is special to me. Both table get used daily by myself or my two children. Also have a flat screen TV on the wall, full bar and fridge. No reason to leave that room in the house. Wife and I get along much better now!

Starting weekly tournaments soon!

I have a American Heirloom ( Gandy reorganized ) with Gorina Granito Basalt on it and it is an Evil Witch of a table to play on. The one good thing about it is that anyone that comes to my garage to play me gets the same treatment from her and that gives me an advantage. I play everytime I think about it which is all the time and I am getting better. A Witch I tell you... a ball spitting Witch!!!!

I guess I will be in the minority. I have a 6 x 12 Burroughes & Watts from the 1800's. That's were I'm heading right now.

Not Sure If They Make Them

When I was 12 or 13 (1972 or 73) my parents got a pool table for our house. I think they thought it would keep me out of trouble. It was an Alltech made somewhere in Florida. It has the number 386 on it somewhere. It was a 3 piece 3/4 " slate with a ball return.

I played on that thing until I left the area when I was 21 or 22.

About 5 years ago I was visiting my parents in Northern WI and it was sitting in the basement. I asked them if it got used much and the said "Maybe at New Years or the 4th of July. Why don't you take it home"

I disassembled that thing and put her in a trailer for the trip back to Texas. I converted my garage into a game/entertainment room. Re-did the felt with Simonis 860, took out the ball return and put drop pockets in. Got some of the grid material for Diamond lights and built one.

I play about 3-4 hours per week in the summer and 10-12 hours a week the rest of the year.

I have a new Diamond Pro and love it. I also have a Vally Bar Box on the other side of the basement but needless to say since I have got the Diamond the BB don't get much action anymore. I love it and would like to thank Diamond for making such a great table

you guys are so lucky, i wish i could get a gold crown in here but i have no spare room....oh well back to the pool hall.

Ad Chalk,

This is a very nice thread even though I have never had a table at my home. :frown:

It's nice to see all of the great tables and setups that everyone has.

I wish you would have made a poll out of this thread as well just to see what percentage of people have tables at home.

If one of the table owners wanted their names custom printed on Masters Chalk, could they order some from your company for their home room?

Check these buckets out....long & fast rail shots are all but impossible to make because of the inside angles of the pockets.

Related to this... I signed up with AdChalk, to advertise PoolVids.com for a month. So far, very happy with the result. They pull together a very nice ad for the small real estate on the side of the chalk. The prototype is creative and looks nice. I've asked if I can get the "used" chalk (or a box or two) for my own home use. AdChalk, I think there's a business model for you in there!
