Do you hit most banks with a degree of outside english?

I don't use english for any shots unless there is a positional need for it (or need some unusual curve, throw, etc to make a ball).

I know some do (use a touch of inside or outside).

Though I do use use running english much more than reverse (but this is for positional purposes).
 
usually inside will allow you to cut it more and straighten out the rebound most always making the pocket bigger.
 
I use whatever i need to get position.

In general draw, inside english, and speed
make the bank angle shallow and the pocket
play bigger. Also make the bank angle more
predictable on different tables.

Some multi rail banks require specific english
to go.
 
Yes - not sure why but I will typically under cut the ball and use outside if I can. I also will draw the ball if I can. Low outside for some reason is my comfort zone - but certainly I can do whatever the shot requires.
 
Mostly inside, a touch low. Call it an inside stun. Besides making the pocket a bit bigger, it's just easier for me to control the cue usually. Though you use what you have to use to get the shape you need.

Right, and I think it’s more common to need to avoid a double kiss by cutting the ball a little more, and less common to need to lengthen the angle.

I would say that this is the correct answer- english used on a bank shot is usually for cue ball position purposes for the next shot or altering the object ball's path for a necessary reason.
 
Outside, I usually don't talk to anyone unless I know them. Inside the bank, I use English because I don't know any other languages.

I only hit one bank every other week, until I get direct deposit in July.
 
Probably inside and outside about the same. I think in one hole, outside might be more. In bank pool, inside might be more. For me:)
 
I will use English on the cueball for a bank shot to spin the object ball in off the rail if need be.
