They can make or break your game! Combo shots need to be practiced often as other shots are! Do you agree or not? Your input is appreciated very much.

I measure the object ball in accordance to the combo ball so I know exactly how to hit it. I practice it every time I play.

The secret to these combos in knowing exactly how much of the OB you need to hit and then hitting it.

I practice combos and caroms every session. I like to randomly throw out two balls and the cue ball and try to nail a combo while keeping shape to sink the second ball in the same hole on the next shot. Add a ball after sinking each shot, putting it off line but between the cue ball and the remaining object ball, shoot again, trying to stay in line to shoot the next shot in the same hole, add a ball in between (but off line) and so on and so on. See how many consecutive balls you can make without a miss. Really keeps you on your toes.

several ways to shoot combinations

There are usually multiple ways to shoot any combination shot and advantages sometimes to shooting it one way or the other. I absolutely love caroms too. Stealing balls that are dead if you hit the first ball right but look like magic to somebody that didn't see the shot when they "safed" you playing one pocket.

Scratch pool is an entertaining way to practice sometimes. Instead of hitting the cue ball you hit the object ball into the cue ball and the the object ball has to be pocketed. Sharpens up your aim and seeing angles properly. Not sure of the rules or even if this is the proper name but always starting with an object ball and having to hit the cue ball in the middle with or without a carom should make one pocket pretty interesting. I'd only go to six though, a safety game on the last few balls could last forever!

I am very good at combo shots. Don't have to practice because I use the double ghost ball aiming method. Now this thread should be moved to the aiming section of the forum .
