Hi there Dave,
When we were at Dave's house in Colorado I went over this. You were there but i didn't dwell on this issue. You will remember once I explain it.
This is the biggest problem with most players aiming. Because they are somewhere in this middle with their aim. Just not in the right place. It looks OK to shoot but many times it is not OK.
It's not so important to know where this whole middle is but it is real important to know where your eyes need to be in this middle. There is only one spot to have the eyes. And the reason that everyones spot may vary is because of the different degrees of dominence.
This is , as you know why we work so hard to find the dominent eye. It has to be found. And yes, regardless what anyone says. We all have a dominent eye. Just some are hard to identify and find.
The middle is alot larger than one spot. Just a hint?

Jeez. Gimme a break. It's this crap that makes me hate all of the "my aiming method is better than anyone else's" arguments. This thread isn't even a debate- it's a freaking guessing game.
i thought he was going to release the answer last weekend. i bought his dvd a while back. yes it helped alot on my cut shots. that was my only week point. but the dvd hurt the rest of my game. i was hoping this thread was going to put everything into prospective. considering his dvd was not to clear on anything. ive never called him which i should but im a very buisy guy and not able to play phone tag.

Yeah- that's PART of why I avoid the aiming method arguments in general- it seems like a variation on the old "what ball do you look at last" hustle. I worry that getting all of these weird considerations and perspectives in your head will just screw up what game you already have.

I have fun teaching people and helping them with the game they love. I love the game myself and play as much as possible myself which seems like all the time I am not teaching. I eat, sleep and live pool.
I am always trying to make my game better and in turn teach what I have learned in a lifetime to anyone that is interested in learning.
If you are having trouble with your computer and you want it fixed you first need to know how to identify the problem.
Many companies are going broke and they don't seem to be able to identify the problem. They can't fix it if they don't know what it is.
If you have trouble with your car you need to take it to someone that knows how to identify the exact problem or they might try fixing things that don't know how to fix.
Pool has kind of been the same for years and years. There are alot of problems and mysteries about how to do this and how to do that. Many times we are trying to fix the wrong thing. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't. But in order to get the real fix you have to identify the problem.
This middle that I talk about holds the secrets to trying to improve ones ability to aim. Once a person understands this it makes it easier to show them how to fix it. Knowing this middle won't fix the problem but it will open the eyes of alot of smart players and teachers and some will figure it out right away.
I talk about this in the Perfect Aim video but I don't call it by name. Until recently I have just put a name on this area I call the middle. I identified this area and learned that this was the problem a long time ago. In the late 80's and 90's. I have worked on this to try and improve my own game and in turn have been trying to learn how to teach it so players will understand it easily.
In my personal lessons we always hit a home run. In the personal lesson players get the whole story from start to finish and if there are any questions they can be answered in person.
Unfortuanately when they get the video and there is something that they don't understand they need to call. This is why I offer this exclusive service to everyone because I understand that there are going to be questions. This is my cell phone. You can call it yourself. 715-563-8712 and talk to me in person yourself. Anyone can.
For the players that have learned Perfect Aim and understand it they respect what they have learned and know the value. This is why there are players that defend Perfect Aim so adamently.
You have the video. Get on the pool table and actually try the things I teach. You seem like a smart guy. Work at it a little and you should be able to figure it out. You will see what you are missing.

all right i tried, i really tried not to post in this thread but i cant take it any more.
i thought, finally gene is going to contribute to this forum. i was wrong. you know what? i dont even care what "the freaking middle" is anymore.
so i pay $80 for his freaking dvd which helps me for thin cuts only. so great every time i make a thin cut i think "great i paid $80 to learn to make that shot". otherwise the dvd just screwed me up worse than i already was.
now i find out that "the middle" is the most important thing and thats why i miss shots? wtf gene? then i find out that he "kept it simple" what? for $80 i dont want simple i want all the charts graphs bells and whistles that you can cram in there, then i want a secret button to push and have efren pop out and take the really hard shots for me.
this dvd has really bad production values and now i find out that gene didnt even include one of the most important things about aiming?
spiderweb and joeya and the rest of the "perfect aim" posse can say what they want. if you have $80 that you dont know what else to do with then buy gene's dvd, but that $80 can prolly be better spent.

You're not real hard to figure out. Like the ads that run constantly across the bottom of TV screens - except they don't call you "friend" and pretend to be something else.
This thread - lots of buildup and promises with no payoff in the end - will probably make a few more people wonder if that's what they should expect from "Perfect Aim" itself.

I appoligize for calling you friend if that offends you.
Right now we are working on an infomercial with perfect Aim. If we are really laying an egg like you think, it will be a big one.
By doing this I am kind of doing what we say in the pool world as posting up. All my buttons. I consider it's like someone giving me the 6,7,8,and the break. I don't think I can lose.
My biggest fear though is all of a sudden, how did he get on my infomercial.

Sometimes i get 2 or 3 calls from some players but eventually they catch on to what we are trying to do. Sometimes we do it with PM's but I prefer the phone. It is alot easier to understand.
Some players catch on right away but others need to work at it a little and others don't have a clue about what is going on until we talk on the phone. Then they see the light.
There is a few things if not right will keep you from understanding how to follow what you need to do.
You should still call me. After we talk about it I hope you will understand and it will improve your game because that is what all our goals are.
