Dominguez, Oscar

I just want to say what a great person Oscar is. He is very smart, a great player and a good son. Ernesto has been my freind for many years and he is a great player, table fitter, and father. I remember going places with my dad(until I started playing pool) and they were some of the best days of my life, the memories are great. When I saw the Dominguez Cartel ;) was in the PI I was so happy, I know they travel alot and this isnt the first time, but it just reminded me of being with my dad(RIP 2000). There is alot more in life than pool, but when you can have family and pool thats special. So many of us here have lost family b/c of pool ist nice to see family and pool mix. And it couldnt be for better people.

I lost my dad when I was 35 which was way to soon, he was sick since I was 21 so it was bad, my dad wasnt into pool but he never stopped me, he encouraged me but only came to the pool room once that I can remember. He was more of a outdoor guy and didnt like action, I was into action alot more when I was younger, I still love action but I craved it when I was 18. At that point I didnt spend as much time with my dad, looking back I should have-we were still close an talked all the time, but I did my own thing-pool. There was no bad feelings between us and later on we did do what we could together. Man I miss my dad and mom. I'm a only child and I lived for my mom and dad like most people do for their kids-I have no kids. I remember buying my mom and dad a house in Vegas, It was case $$$, damn near a air barrel but I knew it was the right thing to do. And hell yes i'm gonna brag about that-the best move I ever made.

Since I lost them both I havent been the same, I'm not happy. I do have a great girl Kelly and perhaps I need kids-I dont know. I have never held a baby in my life.

Touching story E. You infer that when you started playing pool you stopped having time with your father. Perhaps that makes the Dominguez father-son-pool relationship touch much closer to the heart. I hope things got back together with your Dad. I can speak from the heart as I lost my Dad at an early age. But I got lucky 'cause my Mom remarried to a guy that was incredible.

You're an open book Eric. Some appreciate that in people, some don't, some can't get out of their own way to allow it. I do, it beats the cloak and dagger people! Sent you a message.

<with one foot out the door to the pool hall, while one foot types and the other watches the Phils put the finishing touch on game 1!>

Well written words about the Dominguez duo. They are everything you say and more. Both are as courteous as any human being can be. Soft spoken, gentle, and honest. Everyone, like you, feels a bit of envy when they see them together.

I'm sorry that you didn't get a chance to have an extended relationship with your father. I did have one with my dad and I am grateful for it.

When we are gone all that is left of us is the memories that we leave for our families and close friends. We should always try to leave them with the best memories of us.

Nice Post Eric

FatBoy

Right on about Oscar and Ernesto. I lost my Dad, whom I respected and loved, 20 years ago. Every time I see those 2 together, the obvious love and respect they share for each other, it makes me think fondly of my dad, and miss the times we spent together.

Ernesto and Oscar are great for the game. I met Oscar for the first time at an IPT qualifier in San Francisco. It takes about ten seconds to realize that Ernesto raised a great kid.

No attitude, excellent player, and a total class act. I can't even imagine anyone having a problem with a players who have this much talent and respect for other people.

In the Asian culture, you aren't dead (in spirit) for as long as someone thinks fondly of you; and continues as your story is told - your tales and shared wisdom will live long after your body quits you.
Adios.

Thank you. That's what I was trying to say.

I am hoping the best for them in the Phillipines. They are both great sportsmen and I enjoy watching them play. True class and great players, both.

Good Luck!

what can i say?

maybe just a little and i hope you take it with the kindness meant...

the best thing i ever did in life was with my **** [a little imagination here], so i humbly say to you is this:

Have Children, hopefully with Kelly [hoping she wants].

just food for thought: to me you "Will Become Your Parents". you will see them in your life as parents and you will become like them. and i suspect that you will love the experience and the beauty.

you can ask all of our brothers and sisters here, and i suspect they will tell you the same. there is nothing in life to compare.

that's all i can say in open forum,
smokey

Hey, Eric! There's always the first time for everything!
Truth be told, holding one's baby is one unforgettable memory!
And I kid you not!

I have been through life's ups and downs. The "ups" are always a
welcome to anyone's journey in this thing called life.

But, somehow, there will always be "downs". And I remember
the times (there were a couple of em in my life) when I would
have wanted to quit on everything and give up - and just
be selfless so to speak.

But something held me back from doing so. As I kissed my
beautiful kids goodnight and looked at them sleeping for some time,
somehow I realized that I am not living for myself anymore.
My life is not my own - never had been since my children were born.

I am here for my beautiful kids - My Closeness - who truly are
as my inspirations. :)

AnitoKid

P.S.

And every time I get lucky and win a trophy in pool competitions,
My Closeness are the ones who receive it, my friend! Honestly,
the win feeling is much so sweeter! You have my word on that!
