Some guy stopped by Omega Billiards booth last night and decided it was a good idea to take a $3,000 Schon and just walk out of the booth with it up his sleeve. Mikes employees saw him do it and tackled him once he made for the door. Riviera security called, police called and then Mike played back the DVD recording from his EIGHT camera security system he has in his booth that showed the thief in action. Cops took him away. Don't steal pool cues, you will go to jail. Glad they got him!

THE BEST thread so far this year!! Congrats on catching the bum and having him arrested. Now follow through with prosecuting him!

Very impressive
Two scoundrels caught in less than 2-years trying to rob Omega Billiards.
Michael is batting .1000 with those camera's.

Awesome Story but sad at the same time,, you really are a low life if you steal,, its people like him that ruin a great pool event for people,,

when I'm at an event i don't wanna Worry about if some one if going to steal my Equipment while I'm playing a match i even thought of buying one of those Laptop cable Locks for my case but i think I'm gonna start putting my case under the table that I'm playing on from now on at these events

What's even more sad is this low-life will receive little, if any, punishment for his nefarious deeds. He needs to have his fingers broken.
If he repeats the offense he should have his fingers removed.
Should he be stupid enough to commit a third felony he should become a distant memory in his Mother's mind.
I know this sounds harsh, and cruel, but things are getting worse, my friends, not better.

Ill go for that for anyone over 25. Based on my own experience you are pretty Fn clueless before that though i only stole (shoplifted $2 and under stuff) from ages 14-16. Did plenty of other stupid stuff though til i was at least 25.

So, let me get this straight. If you're over twenty-five you get your fingers lopped off. If you're under twenty-five you get what, a certificate from the local Chamber of Commerce?

This idiot might get more punishment than the guy who got caught last time since the value of the cue is pretty high. From what I remember of the last incident, it was some lower value cues. Either way, unless he has a record or there are other circumstances, it is a good bet that the DA will let him plea to a lesser charge, probably not a lot of time in custody. Here in California, with prison and jail overcrowding, unless you commit a violent or sex crime, almost everybody is getting no time in custody.

Please post his name and picture if you know it.

Yea I Forgot to mention that in my earlier post,, That hes Probably not gonna get in that much trouble for it,, if it was me I Would Give him a 2years in prison to really think bout how much of a LowLife that he is I kno it Sounds harsh but people go to these events to have fun and Good experience he ruined it for someone who spent there hard earned cash for that cue

Sorry about the Rant jus gets me pissed

There's an irony in this that made me laugh.............. sorry state of affairs though :(

even if he does no time, a felony rap is not a good thing. next time he gets caught it might not go so easy.

After they caught him they should have taken him back to the booth away from any camera and broke his fingers or worse...it happened when he got tackled. Johnnyt

Yes that's right-It's panifully obvious from my post. How could anyone think different ?

I don't call the police. But you'll wish I had.

We had a property manager steal $300,000 from us in Vegas about 4 years ago, embezzled the $$$(that accounted for 200 of the 300) we had him dead ball nailed with the paperwork to support our case, solid proof. DA was a little busy with other cases, about 2 years later they picked up the case, for the $200,000. By then Randy was long gone, he got the $$$ we got the brush off.

point is a cue beef aint going to move the needle in Vegas. they wouldnt even believe a cue is worth 3 dimes, let alone make a case of it. They are on short $$$ there and lots of cases are brushed off, no resources and the joint is stuffed there just like in Ca, CCDC(the jail) and state prisions are stuffed, ask OJ-LOL.....

What ever happened to the guy last year that stole a cue did he ever have a trial and get sentanced?
