Hi all,
With the current trend in today's cue and case market, I just figured I'd save us all a lot of time by cutting to the chase with pricing on a beautiful hand made DW Case I have for sale. It seems that the current formula is to take half the retail price, cut it in half, discount it 90% and then lower the price in 10% increments until you are paying a buyer to take it off your hands for a 98% loss (sound about right?). Basing my formula on the above, I'm starting out with $37,500 as my initial asking price and now, it's down to my "shipping off to Ebay price" of $975 shipped in the US...
The case is extensively hand tooled, braided, and stitched by Del of DW Cue Cases. It is the first and currently the only 2x3 configuration he's made. The tubes are lined with suede pigskin and accomodate 30" shafts and butts or 29" shafts with tall joint protectors in either direction.
The leather is very heavy bridle leather almost 1/4" thick and is tooled heavily on both sides. The lid is very uniquely Del's and is darted and hand braided for a snug fit. The closure is a hidden snap. Del has added a pad to his shoulder strap, which is a nice touch.
I'll be glad to answer any questions, or to send you larger pictures, etc. In all seriousness, this case should bring at least $1,500 based on the amount of work that Del has put into it. It's unfortunate that a guy has to work for $4.00 an hour with this kind of talent, but Del is retired and just needs a little income to allow him to continue to make an occasional case these days.
There are less than fifteen of these cases in existence and I truly believe that one of these days, people are going to be shocked at the price they could have initially picked one up for. I was talking with Del Glenn recently and he told me about some of the deals his dad and brother used to get on Bushkas and Botis when George and Gus were alive. Wouldn't we all have liked to have had the foresight to pick up a Bushka for less than $200? I bet that sounded like a lot of money back then, but a discerning buyer sure could have done well...
Thanks for looking! Buy this $37,500 case for $975 shipped (Paypal fee included)! You'll be glad you did...
Best to all,
Steve
