Earl / Hatch Reality TV Show!

Earl once said, "I used to be a household name."

Good luck, Earl. Maybe you will be again.

Alex, John Schmidt, and Floyd would be fun to watch.... I hope this catches on and replaces all the Honey Boo-boo /Holywood Hillbilly crap that's out there now.

It will not replace them but will fill the gaps or start a new genre. Myself I hope it is pool positive rather than the Abbott and Costello type of thing with Dennis playing the straight man and Earl playing the fool.

My concern is this show will have Earl cast in a major role. Earl was probably the most dominant rotation player in pool for a long period of time. Earl was/is a great player but he in no way represents pool in a positive light in the current time-frame. Whatever Earl is doing he is doing for Earl. He has no respect for other players or the people who come to watch events or the people who put events on. Earl can be a decent guy and a train wreck 5 minutes later. I speak from experience having seen him blow up many times without actual provocations. He is also provoked at times I am sure but much of it is self produced by Earl. I have seen him go on continual rants while playing this being a major distraction for players in other matches much less the distraction he provides to his opponent in the current match. Earl can be very loud and distracting. He runs out like no other when he is playing well but is a major distraction when things are not going his way. He uses this as a tactic and it takes a strong mentally prepared player to put up with what he puts out in a pool tourney. He can play champion speed pool but he is no champion for pool.

You all find Earl Strickland entertaining? Because of his stage presence? His acting prowess? Or, do you just want to see him brake a couple of cues, and rant for an hour?
How old are you guys, anyway?

Where are the details? What network and who's the production company. I doubt this is hitting the air at all, these guys are both old...who wants to watch that.

Earl is arguably the greatest 9ball player of all time. Love him or hate him he has a razor sharp personality with a made for TV stage presence and life story. Not too many pool players can translate to the big screen the way Earl does.

I am a little lost as to what everyone is talking about other than a reality show with Earl? :confused:Any more details would be appreciated. Thank you.

Personally, I'd rather watch a couple of established pool players with seasoning than a couple league players, social shooters, or women with big sweat glands hoping they can string together a rack of balls for the cameras.

Yes. Watching one of the greatest pool players of his generation...yes, very entertaining. Then, to have him speak his mind, just like we all do here, is just as entertaining. Most folks are afraid to say what they mean, Earl is not one of them.

Plus, love him or hate him, he's a character of epic proportions, and has ALWAYS been good for the game of pool. Earl draws a crowd, no arguing that. He's the Howard Stern of pool. The folks that don't like Earl will watch, and watch even more than the Earl fans ;)

I only got one thing to say, EARL RULES :ok::bow-down::joyful::dance::happydance::thumbup2:

Please, someone that lives near Earl's home room, stop by and get the details !!!

lets see how many earl haters are gonna jump on his "cue" now. Why someone didn't think of this before? there's no other personality quite like his, and if there is they should search them out.

I do too. It would be very entertaining. I wonder what production company they signed with and if it's actually been sold to a network. The reality of tv is that a lot of things never make it to air sadly. Hope this does.

Then have someone do the "Earl Strickland Story".
Where did you come up with this razor sharp personality thing? And, the big screen? Really?

Earl will do fine, he has more pool knowledge then most people in the world today. He still has game and so what if he blows a cork once in a while, he will be perfect for reality tv.:yeah: I happen to be a big Earl fan. :)

I agree with you Jam. :thumbup2:
