Earl/Shane Scoreboard

Shane is getting a shot on the 1 on most of his breaks now. This rack is no different. he has a runable layout.

Shane misses another hard hit ball into a corner pocket. Earl does exactly the same thing. Shane finishes off the 7, 8, & 10.

63-56

Earl performs a sarcastic clap.

I would like to say thanks for the updates too. It is very much appreciated. Gonna give out some green now.

This thing has completely shifted gears. Shane has all the momentum and Earl looks completely downtrodden. I hope Earl can keep his spirits up. The crowd is starting to roar for Shane. It is mostly because people want a close match, but I think Earl is taking it as a coup against him and he is responding accordingly.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It's over! Shane has figured out the break. Earl isn't going to be able to play any better than he has. Shane's break is just significantly better than Earl's and it is starting to show.

Shane break and runs again. In the process he teases us with a draw shot into the point of the side pocket.

63-57

one more rack for me

Ya know...shane might be the first to 70.....just sayin...

How epic would that meltdown be?

Almost bought the ppv two hours ago...thought it would wrap much sooner...now I wish I had....arghhhh

earls fading fast..... he's been on 63 for awhile now. Heck, 70 is gonna take awhile at this pace. svb could hit 70 first at this rate.....

is tomorrow night starting at 7 also? I may go to the classic cue and pay for the feed

Open letter to earl strickland from a fan

Mr. Strickland. We are all fans of great pool, and I am sure you are too. We want our champions to be great in many ways if not every way. We cannot expect you to be great in every way and we know that. You have been faced with complaints and misunderstandings most if not all of your career. Since you are a champion competitor and are used to winning, you probably do not want to back down from the longstanding argument you have regarding playing conditions, etiquette, fan behavior, and the rest. But you have a chance to redeem yourself easily and if you surprise your detractors. By doing so it will be your greatest achievement and will top off an incredible career as possibly, probably, the greatest 9 ball player of all time. If only you would tell the fans humbly that you understand their concerns, or some such apologetic stuff that we know you find hard to say, then you will be the prodigal son, not Jack "Pal" Smurch, who was "The Greatest Man In The World." He had to be pushed out of the White House window by the President in James Thurber's story. Life is long, but it is not that long. We are hoping that this is the part in the story where the hero changes. Redeem yourself, redeem pool, friend. And P.S.: If you don't think we're ALL a bit of an Earl fan then consider two things. Every time someone begins their stint as one of your detractors, they have to say "Earl IS the greatest 9 ball player ever, BUT..." ~ there's always an IS before the BUT. The second thing is that you need to consider what a STAGGERING amount of posts and threads there are for YOUR MATCH Earl. Staggering. Now is the time, champ......

I think it is completely reasonable to believe Shane can get to 70 first. He's won 9 out of 10 I believe (or close). With the current play, he could have no problem winning 13 of the next 20 to close it out.

lol @ everyone now, shane didn't stand a chance earlier, now he's the favor to get to 70.. come on now don't mess with the momentum
