Yes, if Earl does not coast in with a safety cushion of at least 5 racks, he will go absolutely bonkers and throw the game because the Universe did not choose him as the chosen one. Even I , an Earl fan, know this. He did it in The Color of Money. It disappointed me greatly and I hope he does not do it again. A champion like Shane wouldn't want to win that way either. Someone needs to pull away.

Just because some people don't post often, doesn't mean they don't read along often.

Im not at "Earl basher", it was just this one thing I thought sounded kind of ridiculous. And I still do, but my opinion shouldn't matter much to anyone. Earmuffs, or whatever they're called, are perfectly fine and normal - when shooting guns. When shooting pool against another of the worlds best players (who just happens to be deaf) - they're excessive. Just my unsolicited opinion offered up in a public forum.

OK fair enough, but they do serve a purpose, and he has ignored the "fans" 99% of the time tonight, so they must be working.....
everyone wanted a better earl, and now you got it...so just enjoy...

Good point. Sure do have to put up with a lot just to play a game.
 
And earl won't shutup while shane is shooting.. shane in line but tough 7 and 9 on the rail.. what to do
 
Shane breaks and scratches. Earl misses an easy shot on the 3. The momentum has shifted. Shane runs down to the 7 and has to play safe. He does the best he can with the 7 seven but leaves Earl a kick shot. He sells out and Shane finishes off the rack.
