Earl Strickland v/s BJ Ussery This Sunday (8/19/2007)

That's a tough match for Earl....LOTTA weight to a fine player. Not only can BJ fire balls, he's a smart player with a good touch for playing safe. He's dangerous.....especially on that equipment. He's MUCH more familiar with the table than Earl.

earl down 2. He finally switched sides to break but still came up dry. That's the difference so far. I've only seen him make 1.

C'mon EARL !!!!

earl down 4

It's not Earl's fault. It's the table or the rack or the humidity.
Doug
( at least he won't Forfeit to go play golf ) :) :) :) (anyone buy him in the Calcutta) :)

Bj breaks almost snaps 9 in and comes up dry. Earl runs out. Down 5. Earl scratches on break. Playing bad safes back and forth

BJ is up by 5. Somebody broke and Earl didn't make the 1. I think he tried to play safe (was at bar getting beer).

Anways, BJ is jumping over the 8 to hit the 1 and hit the 8 first. Oops.

Earl has BIH and tries a 1-9 combo in the side and misses. Slams shaft on table. BJ makes the 1 and is tough on the 3. Plays a fantastic saftey (makes up for earlier).

WOW... Earl hits and *makes* the 3. Geez. Makes the 4 and gets shape on the 5. He's probably out. He makes it look so easy. 8 & 9 remain. BJ gives up the rack after Earl gets perfectly straight into the side on the 9.

BJ is up by 4.

earl misses combo on 9 and abuses ob1. Ends up getting back to table and makes tough runout. Down 4

I'm sorry Doug but I gotta do it... You insist on trying to correct me when I post something. I'm in Fort Walton Beach, Florida... They are an hour ahead of me. Check the link below "smart guy".... hehehe.... I was pretty sure I was right when I posted it above even though I added a question mark. I was in Charlotte for a while as well as Cornelius.

Nine Ball, no need to worry about old 147. He likes to correct everyone. You know how those Mensas can be. :D

If BJ doesn't take take Earl off pretty soon he is gonna have a hard time with him. All Earl needs is 2 or 3 good racks to get in the groove and it could be real tough for flat top.

Earl breaks dry again.

Also, BJ is drinking beer.

More ob1 abuse by Earl and he leaves BJ straight in on the 2.

Oh, I missed it... bar drama

Something happened that caused BJ to win (sorry, bar drama). He's breaking on the hill and made the 8 ball.

Cuts the 1 in, perfect on 2. Ditto on the 3, but shooting over the 5. Makes the 3 and is perfect on the 4. BJ might win the first set. Damnit. He dogs the 4 and leaves Earl pretty straight in. There must be some pressure here.

Hmm, Earl played a distance safety. Short-rail to short-rail, but the 4 is very near the nine. BJ might go for it. Nope. He plays smart. Distance and Earl had to kick at the 4.

Now BJ is pretty straight in. In practice BJ would be out. PLays the 4 and stuns the cue side-to-side 2 rails to get tough on the 5. He misses a long-rail cut on the 5 but it lands tough for Earl.

Earl tried to carom in the 7 but misses. Leaves BJ tough on the 5. He'll probably play safe. BJ screws up and leaves Earl straight in on the 5 in the side. Looks like a 6-9 combo for Earl next. Nope, played the 6 right in the top-left. 7 down in bottom-left and the 9 is about to go top-left.

BJ up by 5.

EDIT: Oops, BJ is up by 5, not 4.

Come back, Drater!

If Earl hits the gear that he is capable of, he may run the set out.
