Earl Strickland Vs Tony Drago Video From Mosconi Cup

Thanks a lot Lenny, nice match. The same user posted the other matches from the first 2 days of the Mosconi.

That interview at the end with Earl.....man I wish we could see that side of Earl more often. He was somewhat humble, made a few jokes, and never complained once. Hell, he even had the European crowd clapping at a few of his jokes. I really hope he gets himself together and makes a comeback.

PS. Thanks Lenny.

It would be interesting to see some stats on how the different shot clock lengths affect the players. I remember watching the accu-stats tape of Sigel running 150 and out, one of the commentators said that the shot clock was shorter (maybe 45 seconds? Can't remember) but he thought it was actually helping the players keep their rythm and that they had more high runs in that tourny than previous ones.

There is no call for people to throw stuff into the players area from the stands. I dont blame Earl for his reaction as the directors and officials do nothing to stop that kind of disrespectful crap.

It isnt Earl that is the problem, it is the rude spectators in Malta that threw debris down in the players area that really need check.

I am watching this when I get home. Unfortunately where I work they have youtube blocked

I am not going to read this thread because I don't know who wins

This is one reason why I love Earl. I love watching the guy.
He has a nice genuine side to him. He's a nice guy.
Unfortunately, there are more vidoes out there circulating portaying him like a jackass, and less of his kind remarks about the game and how such a delightful person he can be.

His antics are usually unprovoked and unfortunately well documented (except for those matches where he is irked by the deliberate approach of hsi opponent). I mean come on, we all have our bad personas especially when provoked.

From what I read about him in his traveling pool school with Archer, he shows a genuine desire to help other get better. Most touching of them all was when someone from here posted Earl's comment about how he wishes everyone can play at his level for at least 2 hours so they can feel how he feels. How empowering can that be?

There you can see the nice side of Earl that most people don't see at the interview at the end.
