They already know what they are playing. They just don't know which order they will be playing them in. You could just create the format prior to the matches if that makes it easier for you as well. However, I think that the format that I have laid out is the fairest for both players for the 10k.
They do not know what they are playing. Think it through.

If they draw Straight pool, one hole, banks. It could make one guy way the favorite and they would never get to the rotation games. There is no way to guarantee you are gonna play a certain game.

The way the games are played and in what order is a big deal. Big enough that most people who bet that high are not going to leave it to complete chance. Don't believe me, just try to set one up. :D :D

Well, just let them play 9-ball, 9-ball, 9-ball and then have a real challenge have them play 9-ball for the tie breaker. Between Earl and Shane, is there any real difference....(other than Earl's mental break downs)?

GO EARL GO EARL GO EARL GO EARL GO EARL!!!

I am SO impressed of Shane and his results lately, and I think this will be Earl's hardest match ever.

IMO, this is also Earl's "last chance", where he will either prove himself as the great competitor he is, or the match will perhaps be remembered as the final breakdown of the Mighty Earl he was only few years ago.

My mind says bet on Shane, my heart calls out loud and clear: GO EARL GO EARL GO EARL!!!

Matt.

I missed you on the Open. Where were you?

As far as Earl matching up with Shane, the guys who are putting this up are either out of their freaking mind or they just love to lose money!!

Shane will run all over Earl as if he isn't there. You'll be watching and staring at the tire threads on Earl's forehead after the match. Alcano is one of the greatest players now and look what Shane did to him. The kid is on top of his game nowadays.

Matt, you know where my loyalty lies when it comes to pool but I have to admit that Shane deserved to win the US Open!! I have nothing but admiration for this young fellow. He is a hell of a pool player!

As with Earl, people who still backs him up live in the Dark Ages.. Wake up and smell the coffee with Shane and Alcano!!!

bayawak aka tirador
You got the 8 for life!!!!!

What is up big Mel? I wanted to make the Open but I was too busy with military stuff. Such is life. 10 more years I'll be retired and doing nothing but playing pool - going to tournaments........hopefully...LOL.

Perhaps I'm sentimental but I'm rooting for Earl and placing a bet with Jay just for old times sakes. You have to admit, it is not beyond the realm of possibility for Earl to win by any means (and of course nobody will bet on Earl so someone had to).

I haven't been playing much at all (barely once a week) but I'll try our usual game (getting the 7 and breaks) whenever you're ready kind sir.

Shane is a mind-blowing monster pool player though....perhaps he has Filipino ancestry in his lineage somewhere Mel? He shoots like it!

This approach seems perfectly logical...

Here is the thing, we all (TAR and the players) wanted the players to play all 3 games. Without coming up with a convoluted points system that would cause as many problems as it would solve, we had to do it some way. After talking to the players this is how they wanted to do it. It is not perfect but it is better than having one guy win the first 2 games and just not playing the third or splitting the first 2 and only playing for $3400 the last set. This way if a guy loses the first 2 he has to nut up for the 3rd set and try to save $6700. If someone has a SIMPLE and workable scheme to do it different we are all ears for the next one.

The aforementioned approach is very logical and will enable the sweaters to have three opportunities to watch excellent pool via the live stream that we ordinarily do not get to see, thanks again to Justin and Chad for another awesome match. You guys continue to impress, keep it up;) ;)
