Earl "the pearl" Strong in first round

He played Michael Yednak from NYC. I believe he is an A speed player so not really on Earl's level. Nothing at all against Yednak, but lets see how Earl handles a world speed player before we get too excited. Im guessing melt down sooner than later.

The match I saw, Earl played really strong on some kid from Canada. Looked like the Earl of old and at the end he did a little fist pump. It was all done in humor but I like his demenor at the moment. Maybe he wont wig out this year and make a deep run, looks like he's playing good enough to get there :-)

That's my impression too, although I'd never say there's never an easy path through The Open, just an easier bracket as you did Lenny.

If Earl and Peach win their next 2, they'd meet. Then I'd say the next super strong opponent might be Lee Van. Up above in that bracket we have AZ posters James Roberts and Tom McGonagle. James has the dubious task in his next match to take on Warren Kiamco. Good luck James!!!

AZ billiards also has a horse left in the winner's bracket. Our very own "ugotaction" (Brandon Shuff) is in there!
