Jay makes a great effort at being the all knowing, benevolent saint of AZ.

Jay does not know everything he pretends to. He likes to be the center of attention so he speaks as if he always has "inside" information. This is not the case when it comes to The Action Report and how we do business.

Jay was not consulted or asked for his vaunted opinion before we made the Earl match because Jay has no skin in the game and therefore his opinion means little to us.

Why does Jay feel that he has any say in when our matches are or who plays in them. This is the thing that gets me. Who the hell asked you for your opinion? Why would it carry any more weight than anyone else's? Why would we announce a match and then a week later say "Oh..sorry...nevermind, Jay doesn't like it. Check back next week."
I think your sense of importance is a little inflated.

It was the timing of this match that you objected to Jay, not the match it self. Why is that? You say you have no agenda. I do not believe you. You say you are just loking out for Shane and that this is a total mismatch. Well what is better for Shane ? Beating a Legend on tape and DVD streammed live over the internet for $10,000 or spending a week in Asia with you gambling with the best players in the world on their home turf for peanuts. But wait, I know, I know, with your guidance Shane will be a star in Asia.

You have achieved cult status here Jay. No matter what I say it will end bad for me, so I will only say this.

I am done with you.

I don't see where Jay did anything wrong other than express his opinion on the match. If Shane sought out his opinion then I would expect Jay to give him one which is apparently what happened. That being said, I don't think that the number of viewers will be influenced one way or the other. I think that the turn out online will be good because of the Earl factor. That being his wild card status which is always entertaining if nothing else. I do however, think that in strictly pool terms, it is definitely a mismatch. Of course you guys are gonna pump up Earl's chances but I don't think that many people really believe it and like I said most everyone is going to watch anyway because the interest is still there for the sheer entertainment value. The only thing I see that could hurt it would be if Earl walks out. By the way, if he does walk out does the paid viewer get a refund?

I'm sorry you feel this way Justin. Shane contacted me for my thoughts about the match and it's timing and I offered my opinion to him and to you. It's really that simple. You got your drawers in a tizzy because I wasn't totally in support of what you were doing this time.

Shane will show up and play because he is a man of his word. And if he asks me to throw in a few dollars I will. And if he doesn't that's okay too.
Contrary to your opinion of me, I feel no different than anyone else on here. Cult smult! My ego doesn't need stroking, but thanks anyway.

I'm on AZ because I enjoy the exchange of ideas about all things pool related. And I believe that is the purpose of this forum. Good luck to you and the upcoming Action Challenge II. If I can ever be of any help to you, let me know.

I'm not going to bet this on this match, $$$ line or games on the wire, neither make sence to me, anything can happen, I hope it all goes well for everyone, I dont want to see anyone lose therefore I wont be part of it. Best of luck to all,

additionally I dont feel its approiate to talk about the business end of this match in public or any match for that matter, somethings just shouldnt be on message boards, a post is someones statment of their opinion or fact on a board(for the public to see or worse-get involved) and the boards dont allow others(parties directly involved) to rebute, refute or defend the first persons statments or assertations in a timely fashion and things can get out of hand fast or misinterpeted and people who arnt involved can get involved creating more problems.

The principals of such matches should be involved in the "closed door meetings" among themselfs not making private information public. For example I have been involved in such talks a number of times and never made a post, there is no reason to. if I said something right or wrong I couldnt have a rebuttal in a timely fasion and things might just blow up. I'm not perfect, just trying to ilustraite a point. Nor am I on any side here, I'm merely suggesting that message boards and business deals dont mix well.

We should be friends, we all share the same interests, sure we make bets and win $$$ and lose $$$, its our lives, choices and passion. Yoyu get more with sugar than vinigar.

best of luck to all involved.

I gree with you but for a different reason.
Some times the feds may apply Inter state commerce laws and arrest some of these betters and can get the owner of the this AZB web site also get in trouble. We have wierd laws.some times they may quote a law written in 1657.

I seriously doubt that the "Feds" care about a few 50 or 100 dollar bets on here, when they have gambling websites handling tens of thousands of dollars from U.S. players daily. No one would prosecute someone for making a bet on here. It just won't happen! This would be thrown out in any court of law. The judge would be mystified why they were even there. People are betting big money every day on every golf course and tennis club in this country.

And the AZ website is not handling the action, so they don't get a cut. They have zero liability. Now if AZ was promoting the action and handling the bets for a house cut, I would be the first to warn Mike. That's just not the case here. Any and all bets on here are between individuals, like you and me. We could do the same thing via e-mail just as easily.

I suspect you will find more of the same on forums of all types across the internet. The Feds have bigger fish to fry!

even though they are not booking the action they could get a criminal charge of aiding and abetting, or possibly be deemed as an accessory to illegal gambling. those 2 charges can usually be brought against anyone who helps in the commission of a crime, like hosting a website where people make bets with each other, will it happen? most likely not but those 2 offences are chargeable. The defence is not to weak IMO, I wouldnt be worried if it was my site.

jay, sounds like you know a little bit about stuff like this? But I do agree with your assumption.I've never heard of the feds prosecuting a gambler.

I will go on record right now and say that Earl will win this match. Yes, I am an Earl fan, but that aside. We are talking about the greatest active US player EVER!!! You don't get that way rolling over! The man has the heart of a LION!! So GO EARL!!!!

And no I will not bet on it...WHY. I never gamble:)

Congratulations Billy on finishing second to Cliff in your big One Pocket Party/Tourney. Wish I could have been there to bet on you. Let me know when I can go to five. :)

I just hope Earl 1)shows up 2)shows some respect after getting throttled.

I don't think you'd recognize 'respect' even if it hit you dead square in the face...TWICE.

Website owners cannot be sued or prosecuted for the content that users post.. Even though they maintain the site and edit the content. I forget the name of the bill but it's common knowledge. Otherwise, everyone with a website would be getting sued daily for the crazy stuff people post on their blogs, message boards, etc.
