Picked up this masterpiece from a guy who had it in storage for about 19 years. He bought it from the original owner who didnt put much play on it.
Every bit is original and it looks like it was just delivered new. One of the shafts is unchalked. The rosewood butt and inside the points is goergous, as is the curly maple forearm. The cue was from around 1984, but I swear if you look at it you would think its no more than a year old.

You got me LOL... rep to you

That is a gem of a classic Gus cue Steve. I had an ivory jointed one made with same veneer colors and trim rings in 1983. Woulda, shoulda, coulda!

Absolutely stupendous....what a cue !! Always loved that kind of treatment with the barbells and veneers in the butt.

That's a beautiful cue. In the pictures, it looks like the diamonds in the points are different then the ones in the butt sleeve, or is this just how the photo is?

Definitely a MASTERPIECE

Very nice cue,
VERY RARE WITH ROSEWOOD...
John Showman made a 3 cue set very similar to this one, for Buddy Hall , when Buddy was voted into the Hall of Fame"

i was holding that cue maybe about 3 or 4 week ago, I was planning to buy this G.S. but you beat me to it. i think this G.S. is one of the most fancy Gus he ever made. as i have 2 other G.S. sitting in my closet too. very good pick for you.

Definately NOT one of your weaker cues. You could charge admission to see your cues. Thanks for sharing!!.

TommyT:eek:

I have to wonder....

This is a great cue Steve, a real nice one. One of the nicest rosewood cues I have seen.

I wonder however, looking at the inlays in the forearm, I wonder if *anyone would have said hey Gus, thats design theft!! You can't arrange those inlays like that..

* By that I mean anyone under 375 lbs..

If I Was To Buy A Mother Of Pearl Inlayed Gus, It Would Be One With This Pattern.

Awesome Cue Steve, Just Awesome.

I would be willing to bet there are more great cues out there only to be found at Garage, and Estate Sales.

People many times have no idea as to what they have that was given them by some pool playing uncle, and has sat in a closet, and been moved from house to house each time the owner moved.

That cue of your was quite a find.
