Eat your heart out John Barton

I don't worry about me damaging my cues as much as the idiots at the bar who don't pay attention or care. The dangers of bar leagues I guess lol

i just do not understand, why when someone put on a threat against another, and he try to defend himself is wrong. while the fellow who set this threat up is keeping quiet. each have their own selling style and point. cool it man

heres a pick of under the lid, and a close up of the snake ron tooled. He made it look like the snake is slithering threw the tooling the skin came off a 30 ft python only 2 cases were made, each a 1/1 mine is just a little fancier than the brown one because it does not have snake. One done with black leather other brown. I would love to find and buy other one so id have them both. Check out the detail of the snake mainly the head its beautful. Ron ross is a master tooler that does some awesome work.

Im about to have him make me some white elephant skin grips for my brown elephant skin 2/4 pro light, my buddy martin bick or on here jazznpool has the nicest elephant on the planet and he even has it in white now i bought some/alot ha its beautful, to have mr jack make me some stuff out of.Like grips, pad with laser engavings also tapper holder also laser engaved.I am about to prolly have him build me a 2/4 black real gator skin case with 8-16 inch pockets 3-diamond desigin and im going to have him use the white elephant for grips, large diamonds with small black gator skin diamonds in center, white elephant under lid but black gator pad though don't want over kill. ha

Here is another cutie that is going to have a nice case someday. Gabriel's dad bought him a case that is going to be his later in life. The Chinese characters are Gabriel in Chinese. His mom is Chinese so Luc is paying tribute to Gabe's heritage.

Very nice John.

And by the way this thread was in no way meant to demean you or JB cases. It was done in jest and I was hoping you took it that way.

Sorry, I didn't get a chance to see your demo......I hope it worked for you.

No problem. Just a little strange to title it this way given the unfortunate animosity between us. I think you have to know how the forum is going to react to something like this.

You know that you were more than welcome to come to the booth any time. I had good conversations with Gil Castillo and Joe Whitten and I miss having them with you. But you know how I feel Jack and we had this discussion in chat and on another forum.

My demo worked out just as I hoped it would. Whether you believe me or not I paid you several compliments this weekend. I also feel that your Sport interior is MUCH better than the ProLite interior and said that many times.

I don't mind joking around but I think given the sensitivity of the situation we should be a little more careful about what we say. What I would prefer is to simply bury the hatchet and you build cases the way you want and allow me to do it the way I want. If your customers don't like your interiors then allow them to change it without any disapproval and without threatening to void the warranty. They are after all still carrying a Justis and I can tell you that 99% of the time that's all anyone else looks at and admires.

I also did not mention you by name in the video and would not. The video was done to show various levels of padding and what happens to the cues. I had no idea what would come out of it when I commissioned it to be made. I told Blake, the maker, that I could be completely wrong and if so then I would have to change my approach to case making. It turns out that I wasn't wrong but I have learned some things that I will use to improve our cases.

Anyway, be well.

Well, this pretty much sums it up for me. I'm all for letting these two beat each other up, go for it. But what it came down at the SBE is this...and this is how view it. Jack Justis and his wife have a "I could care less if you buy it attitude" and "You can buy that other junk if you want to" and that translates to a high price and crappy customer service. My buddy had JB change the interior of his JJ case as I stood by. JB was very personable and had that one of the guys persona. So when it's time to purchase a case, my money goes to JB...not solely based on product quality, but attitude means everything.

I met Jack and his wife a couple of years ago at the BCA and the were really nice people with great personalities.
Jack cracked up when I referred to the brass protective ring on my case as a "hubcap", and we still use the Jack Justis leather burnishers he gave me that work great when I refinish shafts.
Obviously I didn't get in to this interior thing because with 150 cues and over 60 cases, it's too mind boggling.
If I had one case that I carry all the time to tournaments I would be concerned a little more, but the Justis cases are nice to use for the show n tell stuff I do.
For places like Las Vegas where you have to walk around all the time with cues, I use an old soft fine leather Instroke envelope type case that John designed.

I would not hesitate to do business with Jack or John.
