Ebay Cues

I have had 2 instances recently on eBay where I ask about the straightness of a cue. I phrase my question as " Is the cue straight together and apart, do you notice a wobble when rolling across a flat surface? " Both times the seller said the cue was straight and when I got them the shaft looked like a fish hook. I ended up returning both cues. Do you think I can phrase my question better or was it just bad luck?

I sent a cue once and they said it had a slight wobble in it. I know it was straight when I sent it. He didn’t want a refund because he loved the cue. I was told the temperature difference could do it. Now I just video tape it before I ship sometimes I even show the buyer before I ship.

I got a warped cun Ebay so warped I told the guy I couldn't believe he would even put the cue in a box and ship it.
His response was "you can't blame a guy for trying "

Yes, I would be more specific. Is the shaft warped at all? Is the butt of the cue warped at all? While butt and shaft are together, is there a warp roll to the cue and if so, can you describe by how many credit cards is the warp?

The fact they never even mentioned whether the cue was straight or not would have been a red flag for me. If I sell a cue, they get the condition up to 100%. And if it's straight, damn, I'm leading off with that little nugget.

I just ordered a brand new Predator IKON3-2 with a 12.4mm Revo shaft from a reputable seller on ebay and it has a horrible wobble and the shaft is heavier than my 12.9 Revo.

It's hard to believe anyone that's not buying or selling in person would not insist on high quality video. I've had all positive deals here and ebay but I'm through buying or selling!

I got this one for $100. I didn't play it first, and all I had were fuzzy pictures.

The dude was going to throw it away after he found it in a clean-out.

Did I do OK?

The way I see it, it's gambling. Know the risks, make your bets.

That's why it costs money to use Ebay.

I bought an inexpensive vintage case off a guy on Ebay and got talking to him. He had the McDermott C-17 that I bought. I made the deal off Ebay for $100.

Was there a risk? Sure. I gambled $100, but I already had the guy's name and address. Small risk for that cue I think.

Bought quite a few things off eBay that were billiard related, sent back a few that were not as described like a cue that was warped. No harm, no foul.

It was brand new... more likely it was a production issue. Warping doesn't explain the fact that the 12.4mm shaft weighs significantly more than my 12.9mm revo shaft.
