The cue was just sold to jswone on ebay and the photos are copied from that auction.Rule number one is your not allowed to copy photos on ebay! This guy says hes letting it go from his collection,cuemaster98 from canada owned that cue before him and there aint 2 tascarellas with work the exact same.

So the cue pictured is the cue being sold but the pics are not the result of photography done by the seller. He's using the previous sellors pics. Right? I mean...it's not like he's misrepresenting the item being sold..the item being sold is as pictured?

I believe the issue is that the new (fraud) seller does not have the item and is looking to slide some salami up inya.

John Q Public copied the photos from ebay DURING an auction. Then when the auction ended, he posted the photos in a new auction trying to sell the cue. There are not 2 exactly the same Tascarellas out there, not made in March 2004.

The Cue Isn't His

JSWONE HAS THE CUE. THIS IS A FRAUD. IT HAS EVERY SIGN OF FRAUD THERE IS. BRAND NEW USER, STOLEN PICS, SHITTY DESCRIPTION(WHICH WAS PARTIALLY STOLEN FROM THE LAST LISTING. NO DETAILS FOR THE CUE. IF YOU WANT TO BID MORE POWER TO YOU, BUT I'LL KEEP MY CASH FOR A CUE I CAN ACTUALLY GET FROM THE SELLER.

Marcus, isnt it amazing how no matter how hard you try to be straight up some people take the other side and try to rationalize these crimes. Thats why ebay is down and nobody trust doing business there anymore.Let all those dirt bags try and steal all they want,me and my buddies with all our ways of bidding will make sure all they get is the bill from ebay! I bid 12000 on that tascarella before ebay killed it.They just sent me a email telling me the guys a scam. All those new to ebay should be VERY careful who they send there money to.If a guy has no history of selling high end cues than you should always use escrow and if there not willing to do that then if a bell dont go off in your head,OH WELL! Ebay use to be fun,but now,its a jungle out there.

i thought it was pretty funny that the guy ended up cancelling some bids stating " couldnt ship to bidders location" lol. the first bid he cancelled was jswone. im going to start a thread on ebay usernames. take care.

It's amazing how many scams are on the internet! I even recently got burned on this forum. Guess I should have known better, since no one else responded to the add. Some guy calls himself "Midwikkid" had a Gilbert J/B cue for $150. Sent the M/O four weeks ago...nothing...no reply to any correspondence. What really burns me is that I saw a Gilbert J/B cue on Ebay yesterday for sale by a pawn shop close to this guy's home...coincidence??? I don't think so! I've done 150+ deals on Ebay with no problem. Be careful out there!

Midwikkid is from around my area! I've never met him, but have shared many PM's with him. Keep me posted via PM or email!

Hi Zim,

I'll keep you posted. The guy seemed legit. He's posted for quite awhile on this forum. I would be concerned that maybe something happened to him, but he emailed me a month ago that the cue had "just shipped" (it was already late and I had asked him about the status). That was the last contact I had. I tried the phone number he gave me, but it was disconnected. I sent him several emails. I looked up his name in the phone book and there wasn't anyone by that name listed. Fortunately, it was a small purchase, all things considered. I think what really got me was that I had asked him if his asking price included shipping. I didn't want to take advantage of the guy because he hadn't included it in his asking price. I sent an extra ten bucks to make it right and then... you know the rest. Please let me know if you ever hear anything more about him.

Thanks!

Steve

New to Ebay

I just signed up with ebay not that I'd buy a cue there though. If it was from someone I "know" from this forum I might. There's just too many people trying to cash in on things like cues and collectables. Classic Cues and Erik Lee are about the only ones who could tempt me on ebay and Murrays good wood! I saw the auction in question and didn't understand the "Tascarella doesn't make many high end cues" statement. I thought thats all he made? Does Proficient Billiards guard against this kind of thing happening on their auction site?

What Pete Builds/safety On Cue Auctions

ANDY,
I AM ON EBAY WITH THIS USER NAME. I DO MANY DEALS ON AND AROUND EBAY ALL THE TIME, YOU JUST HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU PAY FOR SOMETHING. PETE BUILDS MORE PLAIN CUES THAN ANYTHING ELSE. HIS CUES NOW ARE ALL HIGH END, TRY TO FIND ONE UNDER 2000. THE FOUR POINT FOUR VENEER IS THE CUE YOU WILL SEE THE MOST OF. ALL THE INLAID CUES ARE VERY HARD TO GET AHOLD OF. AS FAR AS CUEAUTIONS GOES, SCOT DOES EVERYTHING HE CAN TO PROTECT EVERYONE INVOLVED. HIS MAIN ADVANTAGE IS THE ABILITY TO TRACK DOWN A FRADULENT SELLER BECAUSE HE HAS THERE INFORMATION ON FILE. HE DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO REGISTER WITH A GENERIC E-MAIL, LIKE HOTMAIL OR YAHOO. YOU MUST REGISTER WITH AN E-MAIL ADDRESS THAT IS FROM YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER. THAT WAY HE KNOWS YOU ARE NOT USER FALSE INFORMATION TO REGISTER FOR YOUR ACCOUNT. HOPE THAT HELPS.

I once bid over $4000 on some Ivory tusks on ebay and then after sending my Cashiers check, got suspicious when he no longer answered any emails. In the process of getting ahold of the FBI and California authorities I found out he had not cashed the cashiers check and the bank went against normal policy and stopped payment. A few weeks later the same tusks were back on under a different sellers name. First rule is that if you get a email from ebay asking for you to confirm user information: IGNORE IT! It is not from ebay. It is from someone trying to steal your account. They usually warn your account is being deactivated if you don't respond. If you respond they highjack your account. Then they go on under your user name and sell stuff, get the money orders and disappear, leaving someone very mad at you. They try to do the same with Payapl accounts. Always log in at paypals site to do business or you are taking a chance of someone stealing your password. They then change the password and email and you can't get in anymore and you will have to stay on line for hours to chat live with ebay or paypal to get it corrected. Someone stole my ebay account once, but luckily I got it back before they used it to cheat anyone.
