Here is Oscar defeating Silver Ochoa in the One Pocket Tourny at DCC as Ernesto sweats it.

THose are three tough all-around players there.

Isn't it always that way? I remember bowling great Dick Weber, he was cool as ice under pressure and always managed to get the pin count he needed under the gun. So it was surprising and amusing to watch him sweat it out from the stands when his son Pete was a rookie trying to get his first win in the TV finals.

its getting to look that way, oscar beat some top players at the Derby, i think max got wore out, he was up 2 sets playing ernesto which is alot of work for anyone and then had to get up for 2 more sets, as Cardone would say "Max's stake horse didnt manage his game right", I dont like to speak on behalf of other people but I'm 100% sure thats what he would say, Oscar comes in fresh, Max is maxed out and they bet the same? bad managment not bad play, They should have called it a night and started the next day, only Chris Bartrum plays like 37 hours straight without feeling it, man thats amazing. Its good to see Oscar playing this good, I really like him and his dad, Max too, for me because I like all those guys I dont like to see anyone lose and I didnt. Its nice too see action in LA again. perhaps this will get the juices flowing and we'll have more action,

I think you are exactly right on this one. It's obvious that Max can bring it, perhaps he needs a smart and well-heeled stake horse to take his game to the next level. Hmmmm, I wonder who might fill that bill?

At the start of the Ernesto, Max match, Max wasn't playing safes anywhere near as good as Ernesto, and there were a few shots where he probably could have made a better shot selection. If Max focuses on his safety play or maybe he was just a little off on his speed that night? He could be a force to be reckoned with, not that he isn't already.

If Maxy started out a bit sloppy, it could be because he isn't in action enough against tough enough opponants. Max probably is way better than his opponents 80% of the time he plays and maybe isn't trained to bring it and run on all cylinders immediately like he would be if he were constantly locked up with quality opponants. Again, proper management could fix that, perhaps a FatBoy stable of players is what the US needs.
