I am potentially looking for a new supplier for ebony. I have been dealing with a smaller shop that usally only has around 30 - 40 squares in stock. I am thinking of placing a larger order this time and want to see who has some good quality pieces and a decient bulk price. I am looking for gaboon ebony mostly but will consider any of the darker varietys. So let me know what ya got or who you recomend. Thanks Chris.

What, you don't like paying Gilmer's inflated prices?
Your PM box is full.

Chris, I would like to go over the inlay design for the Davis blank you are converting for me. I may ask the Az experts for some design help, along with your expert opinion.

Keep up the good work, I love the Curley Jarra cue

Thanks again for all the leads. I have narrowed it down to a couple of sources.
Ted let me know if you want me to post some pics of your cue so people can float some ideas. Chris.

Talk to Eric at Bell Forest Products. Tell him Bob from Sioux Falls referred you to him and he usually treats me real good. Haven't got Ebony yet from him but I ordered some cocobolo and it rocked.

gabon ebony is the dark, pure black ebony...it's hunt and peck for the good stuff...happy searching...
Gabon Ebony is not always pure black. It often has some streaking and/or browner tint. There are blacker Ebonies that come from other parts of Africa, but have been hard for me to get since a typhoon wiped the mill out that I was getting it from. So I am having to live with the Gabon for now, which is almost as nice but not quite.

Thanks for all the leads everyone. I have bought from nearly everyone suggested at one time or another. I recieved alot of good price quotes and a few outrageous ones. Most were in the $60 - $80 per bd ft. range. I ended up going thru Martin Bick. The price was vary compeditive and the quality is excelent. Very nice dark black ebony with no visible streaks. Thanks again everyone. Chris.

True...I was saying it's the only ebony that is black black...not like maccasar or mun ebonies and the sort...I also discovered that gabon ebony will start to show streaks after years of curing...
