Ed Wheat...lets get it on...

I've seen several different cues play alot and would be wiling to give it a go as I have also toaked to Eddie about a cue and I'm on the border line and thinkng about ordering one ...

I wonder why nobody is suggesting Travis... Trotter  . I mean just slap a cuetec sticker on the cue and let him play with it for a few hours and give us a comparison between the eddie wheatec and Allison's new "non-deflective" shaft

60% of the time, I beat the 3 ball ghost every time

STOP trying to convince us of your "player" status just so that you can get your hands on Wheat cue for yourself!

I need two things:
An EW cue and a test group.

(I had this idea long ago with a different maker in mind, but I was quite new to the forum)

Ed,...build a player.Hit the average specs ect. Then ship it out to the real players on this forum.

10 players max with the tenth returning the cue to you.

Each to cover the shipping to the next man until it gets home...back to you for sale again.

No harm or foul and you will get the some players looking ....OR never looking again.

I'd like to make the list, but I don't have too....

I suspect EW will be game..I just need nine others to pay shipping cost to move it on.And I need Ed to have some faith in his work as well as the members here to return the cue.

This is not a new idea. Starkey's been doin it a long time.

Yeah, if Chuck reads this it would be interesting hearing his reaction; curious if he thinks the travels of his "double refund cue" have produced any tangible results for him.

I think it traveled right out into the Twilight Zone. Last I heard, it was lost.

I'm not far from Eddie Wheat and am curious beyond belief on what his cues are like. I'm decent at checking finishes, tapers, cue hit, resonance, overall quality and Predator still calls me to come in to offer feedback on their new equipment.

I've worked with Ariel Carmeli and Tim Padgett in the past and should know good quality when I see it, can I be added to the list of participants?

I would like to be in on this. I'm not one of the "REAL PLAYERS". I have been playing for a few yrs (over 40). I play almost everyday, have my own table. Being retired i would have time to put some racks on this cue. I dont have a collection of cues for display just players, and i have a few customs players. I know nothing about building cues. Anyways this was a great idea, i would be willing to prepay for shipping and a 35.00 refundable deposit for the cue. @ 35.00 for 10 people= 350.00 this is eddies basic cue price.
I see some good stuff coming from this idea.

Neil, if Eddie is willing, I will try to get you on board.

Where's Eddie?

Standing under a cold shower, drinking a thermos of hot black coffee and wondering what day it is.

He reminds me of the old tv commercial about the store that had only one rug for sale and if they sold it, they were out of business. (it was a rug commercial, wasn't it ? I wish I could find it on youtube.com) :)

double refund cue

I have shipped the double refund cue to 42 players, they have showed to to dozens of their friends. So, yes the advertising is great. There is still have a list that want to try it out. Its now in houston with jacob perkins, I spoke with him yesterday and he promised to get the cue back to me this week. As soon as i refinish it, its back on the road again. I have had many offers to buy the cue, but because so many people have played with it, i feel it belongs to everyone. I believe i have got quite a bit of free advertising out of doing this, but like this time when the cue has been in one place for 4 months its a pain in the ass. If you would like to hit a few with the double refund cue just pm me an address and i will let you know when its headed your way. Because of the list it could be 3 to 4 months down the road. { thats if i ever get it back }. thanks for the interest in my cues. chuck starkey

Of Course, I May Be Completely Wrong.....As Usual

I believe that this idea was suggested on RSB about 10 years ago and I think a few different cues were sent around to interested players/members.

I'm amazed it made 42 tours without any major hiccups like someone claiming it was stolen or broken and yada ... yada ... yada. 4 months??? Always one in a crowd ...

I hope it generated some cue sales for you.

Why so curious? I hope you aren't losing sleep over it :D

I don't sleep very well these days anyways but I am curious to see what the self-inflicted hype is all about. According to him his cues are exquisite or something to that effect so I would like to see just how nice they are. To say the least I am a cue whore and I love to see good work.
