Edwin "Bandido" Reyes Lives On

Edwin

Something about Edwin...

We all saw how headstrong Edwin was in the forums. But did you know that in Davao, Linds witnessed Edwin cry over the death of the kids' hamsters? Of course he did not cry for the hamsters. He sympathized for his kids.

Edwin stood up very strongly for what he believed in but he also had a very kind and generous heart. After time has passed that is what will be most remembered, not Edwin the player's advocate or promoter, maybe not even Edwin the master craftsman and artist but Edwin the man. That might not be a bad thing.

thanks

for the link that got me to this thread. I wish I remembered where I got it. I have learned a lot about Edwiin Reyes and wish I had known him personally. I started to say I had learned a lot about pool in the Phillipines, but I would imagine and hope that would be an unfair statement.

Sputnik, AnitoKid, his family, and all that knew him personally, my sympathy.

I'm stunned? Saddened for sure, and at a loss for words. Back to page one please.

of our friend, Edwin Reyes.

LINK is here, friends.

I have not been a member here for long.

However, reading this has made me very sad.
I did not know Edwin, didn't even know of him.
But I now feel as though I have lost a friend.

I am tearing up right now writing this.

RIP Edwin

Friends, truth be told, I had butterflies in my stomach the
morning before the tour. I was afraid that only a few would show up.
Last Thursday day, twas a signal number 2 storm hitting the Metro -
was worried that the event may not push through and all.

But it did push through! The AMF-Puyat Superbowl was filled to the max!
All of the 20 tables were occupied for some time! And the sense ofcamaraderie and friendship was very evident among all!
The cooperation and willingness of everyone to make the tour a successful one was very visible – right from the beginning! Indeed, Edwin Reyes aka Bandido is loved by many!

Kabayan Edwin:

This is to remember you. But more importantly, this is for your children. Thank you for being our light!

Again,to my brothers and sisters in billiards,

Kapatiran! Mabuhay ang bilyar!
Mabuhay ang manlalarong bilyarista!
Mabuhay kayong lahat!

Maraming, maraming, maraming, maraming salamat po!

Goodness does exist, and Edwin Reyes, whether he knew it or not, was a very rich man to have so many friends who care about him.

What a kind gesture this tournament was for his family. I am truly touched!

Hats off to Anito Kid! He seriously took my request during Edwin's wake to organize a Bandido Cup for Edwin's kids. He was expecting an attendance of 10 but more than 50 turned out. It was a beautiful evening with camaraderie, food, gift raffles, and fun pool. What's better is that many of them ended their night by saying "see you next year"! The spirit shall live on.

The older guys were there in spirit and I don't think that they had winning the tournament in their hearts because the top three finishers were all kids 16, 14 and 11 years old! Expect the story from Anito Kid.

This is a pool brother with a big heart just like many of the AZeers led by John (JB Cases) who exerted an effort in honor of Edwin. Anito Kid cried like a little boy at the end of the tournament when he pulled me aside and told me that he wished he could have done more as he showed to me the tally of the funds. That is how genuine his heart is.

Linds handed over to Nilda the Peso equivalent of $525 that was generated from the AZeers for the education of Edwin's three tots. The amount was sent from JB Cases to Blowfish to Linds through Paypal.

Let us thank each other for a job well done... to be continued!

Martin

I want to also mention that Anito Kid has donated an $800 JB Case that was due him and another Stelring Wave case that he is owed for a value of $150. I haven't figured out the best way to raffle these items yet but the proceeds will also be going to Edwin's family.

And Anito Kid, you have also earned yourself a custom case. I don't know when I can get to it but I will and it will be something you want.

Well done AnitoKid, and also to you John for raising some money!

Will love to read some updates and look at some pics from the tournament.

Thanks for what you are doing!

John,

Much thanks for your generosity. Will eagerly look forward to it.
And many thanks for spearheading the effort for the fund
drive here at AZ.

Maraming salamat, kaibigan!
