ESPN has unaired footage of a trick shot competition between efren and mike massey. Mike jumped the cue ball into his boot. Efren went next and got it on his first try... while Mike was still sitting in his chair wearing it. Mike got mad and responded by jumping the CB into efren's mouth and that's why efren has no teeth.

Though Earl never managed to get his goat in all the matches Earl went crazy on him, Efren always enjoyed laughing at Earl in untranslatable Tagalog. He loved making a fool out of Earl. In one match in Muntinlupa, Efren pushed out freezing the cue with the 9 that covered the one. You could almost hear Earl say "go ahead and eat your stupidity". Then came a spinned kick shot that bounced and made the cue ball cling to the short rail, missing an obstruction by a hair, into the one and one into the pocket. Only Efren can make Earl clap smileless.
