Efren sold his cue?

Efren played pretty bad at the UPA Tour Finals and I saw him switching cues left and right in the middle of matches.

Word was that Efren had sold his personal playing cue (the infamous Judd) while he was in Dubai recently. He was made an offer he could not refuse.

Now he is having trouble getting dialed in with anything else..........

He must have gotten a hefty sum for his cue as I am sure it is costing him $$$ with lost tournament and maybe action revenue.

P.S. I have gotten confirmation from the new owner about the sale of the cue. However I do not know the purchase price.

I could help Efren

I would be willing to loan Efren my Judd if he needs it. Then once he finds another cue he is comfortable with he could just return my cue to me. My cue looks similar to his old cue and plays well. I am sure he could adapt to any slight differences between his old cue and mine. All the Judd cues I have ever used have all played real well.

Some of Efren's pals were shooting with his cue on the practice table outside the tournament room. It was another Judd with a similar design to the previous cue he had been playing with (ebony and ivory points). The new cue had ebony points bordering shorter ivory points. He was switching between this cue and his Efren "Bata" Reyes cue made in Japan.

i watched Efren play one match on Friday and he switched cues in the middle of the match, he wasnt playing well, his opponent wasnt either, we joked after wards that that match wouldnt sell many videos. it went hill/hill Efren had the break and ran out to win, that alternating break rule sucks.

I remember him using the Efren Reye's cue in the IPT, and was playing quite well.
Was he using the Efren Reye's cue, with his Judd shaft, or the Efren Reye shaft, or another Judd?

Someone would be a fool to buy a cue that Effen gets rid of. If he can't shoot with it I don't think anyone else can.

I got 1 he shot with and it will take some serious money to buy it from me, also because Tony Ellin played with it too.---Leonard --and I don't think that I have ever screwed it together or hit a ball with it I just look at it sometime.

People buy it for keep sake specially those cues that have history of winning championships. I think people will even buy them even when they're broken.

For the most part, Efren doesn't sell his playing cues left and right which make them even more valuable.

Must have sold it to a sheik. money is nothing for them. If somebody offered to buy your cue for USD 500k, I wouldn't second guess. that's a lot of JTs' that you could buy it with. :D

Didn't he have a Mezz? What is the cue in these vids?

That is a fancy Judd that he has been using, which he got from a friend of his (maybe this Alex). Still not clear as to which Judd has been sold, his original BEM forearm & buttsleeve w/cocobolo handle or this new cue he's been using that he got from his friend. Can anyone clarify this? Corey? If it's the newer one, is he back playing with his older Judd?

Is that maple cue with burgundy leather wrap a Judd? That's the one I see him shooting with the most...it has no inlay or points...

I don't know that cue so maybe someone can chime in.

True, why would anybody want to own a bat that Babe Ruth used? Maybe because it could be worth a ton of money?

The cue he sold was the Judd w/Birsdeye Maple forearm & buttsleeve/Ebony handle. No wrap.

Pretty much the cue he has been using for maybe 5+ years.

Kevin, can you describe the exact taper and diameter size of the ferrule?
Thanks,
Joey

I will take measurement this evening and also provide pictures of my cue. I do know for sure that the ferrule is under 13mm and the taper is a pro taper of at least 10-12 inches. The cue was built in 92 while Judd and Trudy still lived in Riverside. I have never posted pictures due to the fact that the finish has yellowed after all these years and makes the Ivory points look yellow rather than the white.
