Efren's Commercial

I don't think I've ever seen Efren drink alcohol, but it's a great commercial.

I had a shot of Crown Royale with him when he was visiting/doing an exhibition (gambling with the regulars) at the old poolroom I used to work at. My friend introduced me, asked me if I wanted a shot, and Efren had one with us. I don't even like to drink, but I couldn't pass up a chance to have a quick drink with the greatest player to ever hold a cue.
 
I've seen Efren enjoy many *local* beverages after play has wrapped up for the evening. I'm witholding the brand because of his beer sponsorship.

I'm warning you. It's "gasoline." :D When I was in high school I did drink that Ginebra San Miguel Gin because it's cheap, but now I can afford a different brand, I'll stay away from that stuff. Straight gin with only cold water to wash it down, what am I thinking.

A few years ago at the Pechaur Finals at Hollywood Billiards in LA, I watched Efren fry Parica and send him to the loser's side. While Efren was waiting for the final match, Efren's "friends" started buying him shots of whiskey. On the other hand Parica was sleeping on the couch resting. Parica makes it through the loser's side and meets Efren in the finals and returns the favor - he frys him. The whiskey didn't help - what are "friends" for?
 
What a cool Cat! I wonder if he can take a trip to the grocery store in his home town without getting hounded by fans. The passion for pool in the phillipines makes me want to marry a girl from there and live there. Would that be a good idea?
