Efren's lifetime win-loss record vs Sigel, and vs Strickland. Any estimates or info?

Efren did lose to Souquet during those NYC year-2000 US Open semis. I saw it in-person. After some safety exchanges with Efren and some points scored, Souquet ran out with one of the most beautiful 120 runs ever captured on video (by Accu-Stats). For years I often re-watched that particular inspiring video a few days before competing in many of my 14.1 tournaments. What a calm, meticulous, measured man Souquet is when he plays 14.1.

seen the video. noone could've beaten ralf that match, he was completely in the zone, played some of the best straight pool i've ever seen.

Efren considered Mike to be the best American player. Pretty sure there’s a reason for that.
What doesn’t get mentioned much is that Nick Varner beat Efren on Efren’s turf....and didn’t get a rematch!
I think it was somewhere in the video below if I recall correctly that when Efren was asked who he would choose as his World Cup of Pool scotch doubles partner if he could pick any player in the world (active or inactive) and he said Nick Varner. When asked something along the lines of who the best player was that he had faced he said Mike Sigel. He also at one point said that Nick Varner was the player that played the smartest or something along those lines.

When Efren won Red's in '85 his handlers didn't want to jack with Buddy but they played anyway. Buddy smoked him. Buddy has pretty sporty W/L record against ER. Buddy Hall was the best $$$ 9ball player of his era.

I told Buddy once that if we could put his stroke on a 10 mm cue we could win a world snooker title with it....he said “Don’t ever forget the Miz...one of the best strokes ever.”

Ditto on Mizerak's stroke. Hal Mix, renowned coach to top-level players -- Varner, Davenport, etc. -- a few decades back (with expertise glowingly praised here 13 years ago):

. . . said in an interview that only three pros he's ever seen had a *truly* straight stroke, and the Miz was one of them.

I believe Parica was ahead of Hall in their money matches.

Kim Davenport and Cornbread Red also had perfect straight strokes all the way through the ball.

I remember when Nick beat Efren over in the PI. I believe that was the late 80’s or early 90in’s.

I've said it before and I'll continue saying it, Sigel would've had a field day torturing today's players with his safety game. Not to say that today's players can't play safe and would not be able to get out of them thanks to the jump cue, but Sigel won so many games off of his safety play alone.
. . . and why we all remember that one of his most apt and colorful nicknames was: "Captain Hook".

How cool would it be cool is get all these retirees players in a pod cast and let them talk for a few hours????

Can you imagine Mike & Earl lol. Johnny & Buddy mite not get a word in. Would need a moderator. Would be some amazing content to listen to them talk ant tell them stories and God only knows what else.

What could possibly go wrong? This is a PPV that would get a audience. 🤔🤔 Or a podcast instead. I’m just rambling ideas.

sound interesting or good?

I’m curious as to what other hardcore pool fans think. I know my opinion.

“The Fatboy Pro Pool Podcast” lol

Opinions?

thx in advance (I’m not looking to make $ for me) any and all $ for the players.

I'll never forget hearing about Johnny being in town and playing Francisco Galindo 10,000 dollar sets at gold ball billiards (back then, pre internet, all the pool halls in the area would get calls when big action was going down) We left Mike running the hall and all went and watched... Johnny was giving Francisco the 8 and went off for 30K...

Efren has only played in two 14.1 iirc.
He won in Portland, Maine. Beat Wiley in the finals.
Lost to Souquet in the finals in NY .
I think Sigel is ahead of Efren in 9-ball matches . So is Earl.
This matches were before Simonis cloth became popular.
Efren just did not have the break and power stroke by those two greats.
He also played the world tournament in 2012, losing to John Schmidt in the finals.
