So lets say you were Efren Reyes and you just won more money than your countries GDP, how would you spend it? On promoting pool? On luxury goods for yourself? On your Phillipino charities? etc...

I'd give it to all of the world orginazations of pool for sanctioning fees. That way maybe the next tournament that draws 7 B players can pay at least their entry fee back to the winner.

First thing Efren would do is have those measle balls banned b/c he hates them.
Knowing Efren, he'd probably help more poor people.
I heard he supports 40 plus people.

FYI, the GDP of the Philippines is about $400,000,000,000.

As others have suggested, Efren will probably spend it the way he has always spent it ---- supporting those in his family, those in his village and many more. Efren, by transforming the lives of so mnay others, shows that he's a magician in many aspects of life.

If it were me who won that money, I'd give it to Efren, knowing that he'd spend it more wisely and more charitably than I ever could!

On Sunday last year at DCC , my buddy & I were having
breakfast & sitting across from us were Efren who
had won everything that year, Santos, & 2 others.
Maybe 4 other people in there altogether.
My buddy yelled over to Efren & said " As much
as you won this weekend, you could buy all of us
breakfast in here, couldn't you?"
Efren laughed and said " Yeah...... I could."
Don't be too sure of his benevolence.

Don't confuse benevolence with stupidity. Efren has consistently helped people less fortunate than he throughout his career - his not treating you to breakfast is proof that he's no idiot. Only an idiot would give away his money to someone who could obviously afford his own breakfast.

Yeah, you're right. I was actually just being a little
facetious, hoss.

You were just being facetious, right?

EDIT: Yup, guess you were...didn't see that last post.

Man if I were having Breakfast and saw Efren and Sonny Sambajon sitting across from me. I would be picking up THEIR check in a flash. Thanks Efren for all the years of inspiration and good sportsmanship! Salamat Po!

Sorry, I didn't catch that in your post. I'll try to be less literal....

Nah, no need to apologize...it's Hondo's fault! After 850 posts or so, you would think that Hondo would know by now the standard practice and etiquette of including emoticons (smiley faces) when being either facetious or sarcastic. Obviously, it is very difficult to sense subtle sarcasm from reading text alone. Therefore, a simple smiley face can clear up a lot of confusion concerning the intent of the post. It's just standard practice, and Hondo should be the one apologizing to you...AND to all of us posters who read his ambiguous post!

Dear JSP. 1. I hate smiley faces. 2. I am a complex
human being who hates being obvious. 3. You're
right; he shouldn't have to apologize. I should
apologize. 4. I will NEVER criticize Lord Efren again.
What the heck was I thinking? 5. Whenever I win a
$100 dollar tourney at the local bar I buy the whole
bar a round. Dumb, huh?

This is a good point. As much as I hate those stupid, pastel-colored SOB's they're necessary. I thought his original post was kind of d*ck too at first.

Lesson learned. Shake it off, Hondo.

You really think he should buy you breakfast, especially after a rude comment like that from your buddy.
I think he gave you the perfect answer.

Hey, all I eat for breakfast is 3 eggs, sausage, bacon,
home fries, grits, toast, juice, & coffee. What's the big deal?
