I really hope you get this on time. I didn't tell you about my visit to Spain with my family for a short vacation, but unfortunately we were robbed at the hotel where we lodged along with other folks. We didn't bring our phones and the hotel telephone lines were disconnected during the incident. So I have access to only emails. Please I'm going to need some sort of loan from you for us to relocate to another hotel close to the embassy and also to get another flight ticket. Those thieves made away with our credit cards as well which is why this can't be resolved instantly.

We have been to the Embassy and the Police here are not helping issues at all and our flight leaves tomorrow..Please, Let me know if you can help us out? I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Roy E. Malott

from customers of Roy Mallot did you recieved this kind of email from him? i have a bad experience with Roy then suddenly he sents me an email like this? is this a scam?

thanks!

Sounds very similar to a very popular scam. Usually it's someone pretending to be a son or grandson and claiming to be in some type of trouble requiring money needing to be sent. Same kind of smell.

Got a similar e-mail from a reputable auto repair shop owner visiting Europe. He requested funds as his wallet was stolen. Ya shoooooor.

Strange, when I heard from him on a forum we both participate on, he never mentioned the e-mail or his account being hacked.

Roy's safe and sound in indy,,,,,,,,,,!!

****ing scam,,,,!!

Delete it all,,,

again,,if questionable,,hit that ****ing delete key schmucks,,!!

It's actually probably not a scam from the sender. It looks to me to be more like an e-mail worm/virus/trojan.

What happens is this worm attacks the sender's e-mail list and sends the above-referenced e-mail to all of them.

I had one from a co-worker who said she was in England, lost her wallet, yada yada yada.

IOW, don't kill the messenger. It wasn't his fault, other than he maybe should get a better virus protection for his computer. :p

I know Roy and I know he is more
upset about this than any of us.

Unless you sent money:eek:

His e-mail account got hacked - happens all the time. Sometimes the e-mail company, AOL, yahoo, gmail etc has security issues, but there is also phishing schemes and even programs available for purchase that will hack passwords.

He needs to get in there and change his password - using numbers and letters. It's surprising how adding numbers makes the password much more difficult to hack.

Scam

It is a scam but not from Roy Mallot. It is someone who hacked into his e mail. This same scam exactly went out last year using Don Sureman.

Definately a scam. I have always used a combination of letters and numbers in my passwords.

I have never been hacked!!......"Knock on wood"
