Emily Duddy Photoshoot Multiple Images

I've seen her play and she's a solid B+. She didn't play well. The woman she was playing was at least an A+, or maybe an Open.

I think what really killed her was the bad safe in rack #2. When you make an own-goal in the second rack, already down 1-0 and suddenly down 2-0 to a superior player, it's really tough to fade.

But it's her money and she can do what she wants with it. Why are you so concerned with her financial situation?

I'm terrible and can't runout of a burning building, but if I were invited to play in Asia in a tournament, I would go. I've never been to that part of the world and I guess all I would need is an excuse. I could use a vacation.

I might just play in the us open this October, odds are great I wont win a set.. it would be fun. I've wasted much more money on dumber things.

LOL. Where did I even hint that I was even remotely concerned with her financial situation??? She could be a pauper or a billionaire for all I care. That has little to do with it.

My point all along was, she flew halfway across the world to play on the world stage. She played poorly. Very poorly. Now I'm not sure how she got her invite. I've heard stories... but they're all just that - stories. Don't know if they're fact or fiction. But Emily seems very concerned with letting everyone know that she's a "professional pool player". If it were me, I'd be less concerned with people knowing I was a pro than I would be about actually PLAYING at pro level.

That's all.

How do you know she went there for the tournament? Maybe she just had the money and wanted to go to China. And designed the trip around a tournament, which she could play in for kicks and experience.

Well I know that she is a Captain Server (50-75k+ annually) in a very posh NYC restaurant so Im sure money isnt an issue. Considering she doesnt have any kids and its just her and her boyfriend leaves you a lot of time and money to do whatever you want to do. Hell before I had kids I went and did what I wanted to do when I wanted to do it. It was great!! Oh I also had money in the bank and a different assortments of females on any given week. Life is different once you have kids and I wouldn't change it for the world.

To add to that who cares what she does with her money?? Sounds like a bunch of jaded haters on here wishing they could do what she does. Do I think that she is very outclassed?? Sure but at least she jumps in the box and tries which is more than most of the people on this board can say. Im not a huge supporter of Emily but im not against what she is doing. Everybody is so quick to judge but come on man..... Its just a game after all...

Maybe. But if you notice in the frame below, to the left of her name, it says "USA." Which means, in a way, that she is representing my country. And on that level, it was an embarrassment, and the viewers over there (where they take pool seriously) probably assume that she is among the best we have to offer.

Sorry, I didn't realize it was the women's Mosconi Cup.

You hinted here: "How many of those tournaments did you shell out a LOT of money to fly to Asia so that you could play against those pros??"

Why the all caps on a LOT?

Actually, that wasn't a hint, it was a sledgehammer.

You don't know if they're fact or fiction but you're willing to insinuate there was something nefarious about them?

Sorry to keep this pathetic thread going, but I think Emily deserves a shout-out for testing herself. It didn't work out but I hope she had an awesome time in China.

just my 2 cents.....

Given this was her 1st major event overseas, I'm willing to give Emily a pass on the sub-par performance. The only teacher of that level of pressure is experience, so good for her in taking that 1st leap.

Also, now that she has seen the inside of the lion's den, Emily has a very clear picture of what it will take to compete on the international stage. I think this trip was more educational for Emily than anything else and one can hope it has added some fuel to her competitive fire.

I put the caps on a 'LOT' to emphasize that it is, in fact, a lot of money. Cleary was stating that he's played in a number of tournaments where he's listed in the brackets alongside stronger and sometimes, world class players. The reason? He plays at Amsterdam and other NY area poolhalls. So does Mika. So does Tony. So do a lot of very, VERY strong world class players. So for Cleary to make that comparison (where all he's out is the $1.50 metro card and the cost of the entry fee) isn't the same as someone booking a flight around the world, hotel room, etc., etc..

And fwiw, I'm not insinuating there was anything nefarious or criminal.

If I were her advisor, I'd recommend softening her image a little. I think she'd be more attractive with a girl next door image rather than such a severe hard image. You have to be exceptionally beautiful to be able to pull off the hard ass look without it looking contrived.

For someone who can definitely .do iit .... Think Rooney Mara from Girl with the dragon tattoo.

And those eyebrows .... What was she (or whoever did it) thinking ? she's a great looking girl, just tries too hard in some of those pics.

Just my opinion ... Not taking anything away from her looks or abilities.

How Emily chooses to spend her money, a lot or a little, is her business. If she wants to book a flight around the world and pay for a hotel, it shouldn't be for us to judge. Just saying. Anyway, forget it. All good. And btw, the metro card is now $2.50.

Shes diffiently easy on the eyes and she can play, given the right locale. We all started somewhere, she will get better as time progresses.

I like this one too, CJ.

Why play pool!?!?!.

Gorgeous girl, I probably be loosing big time here:o.

Reminds me of a history, was playing a game and I had the money ball in sight and all of a sudden a waitress that I know walks up in the sight of the pocket and raises her shirt, - wasn´t that easy to get the composure back:rolleyes:.

Regards

Chrippa

yes I made it btw:wink:

my evaluation

I watched 3 games
He is better boderline AA player, if shes a pro he is a superpro.
She is borderline A. I would give her 8 and a game and shouldnt lose a set. In my room she would be middle of the pack, maybe , with bangers included.
This is in no way a knock, just an honest evaluation.
