Employment Opportunity at CSI National Office

I wish to address all those who are asking the salary and benefits be listed before hand. If you look at most job posting's via the larger job boards on line, not all in fact I'm estimating only about half list a salary or salary range as part of the initial call for resumes.

Salary is a negotiated item in the job securing process, both from the side of the employer and potential employee. There are always numerous items to consider...what does the prospective employee bring to the table as far as skills, attitude, knowledge, goals, flexibility...for example.

The benefits are discussed in more detail with those who meet the listed job basic scope and requirements and at the appropriate time. However, in the posting it is mentioned health benefits. I just did not get into a deeper discussion because on an initial job posting it is inappropriate to discuss those items to that depth yet.

I do appreciate everyone's comments. We have received numerous inquiries and responses. It is a tough time for many out there and I hope for those of you searching for a job, if our requirements and you are not a match, I hope you find the right position for yourself soon and are happy.

Send your Resumes

I encourage anyone who loves the sport of pool, regardless of your other aspirations in life, to send a resume to CSI for this position.

I can tell you what it is like to be a part of something so great, it will always leave you humbled by the wonderful people you will serve.

The opportunity to help the CSI Team develop to a better place, and improve their ability to grow, is a great challenge. To make all the wonderful contacts with League Operators and Players throughout the system is one of the greatest learning experiences you will ever have.

If you like a challenge, and love the rewards that go with them, get that resume in the mail ASAP.

Good Luck to All,

Carl

Awesome opporunity for someone, and how cool that you guys are using the AZbilliards forums to advertise! Good luck!

Geno wrote: Personally I think it is very important. Knowing this before hand could save the CSI valuable time in looking over resumes' of people that my not be interested because the salary is too low and it may waste the time of others that may be considering relocating to a different city for employment.

So, the company needs to tell you all they are going to do for you before they even know if they are interested in giving you an interview let alone hiring you?

Do research on the company and the industry. Understand what the position is, and you can figure out what the starting salary will be.

Different philosophies I guess. Again, back in the days when I had 100+ working for me, I used to hire a person I interviewed for one job and placed him in a different job because I felt the position was more appropriate for his skills. Many times the salary would be altogether different. Trust me on this one, if you impress the company, and they want you, they will make the numbers work.

CSI employment opportunity

I have read every post and must say it is interesting.

CSI is a small company. But we do a whole lot more than anyone in this industry really understands.

It is not just about running a pool league. it is about setting the standards for industry. We are the leading authority on rules, we have the most complete on-line bracket software that exists.

We are promoting events that are independent events (Swanee and US Bar Table etc.) - we do multiple regional events.

So we need people that can pick up the slack in all kinds of things - from contract negotiations, facility layouts and logistics, to labor analysis and analyzing why things did or did not work.

There is a lot more to this than meets the eye. I will say that there is a place for someone who can look to the future. After being a permanent hire, only one person has left our employment. We are here for the long haul.

Our office has 5 master level players out of 9 people - over 200 years experience in the pool world. So how often do you find employment that considers your 'hobby' as a valuable requirement.

I really encourage ANYONE that thinks they have what it takes - this is exciting and we are getting ready to roll out some HUGE industry announcements and advancements!

(Jump in - the water is fine).

We have a good job environment - you always get time off to go to tournaments (LOL) - and we are one of the few companys that are getting into a position to change the world of pool. (Others could do that too, but without desire, it ain't gonna happen).

Anyway, my two cents!

Everyone - go easy on Geno... He just asked a question. Although, he has no intention of sending in a resume or has a slight interest in the job... he was just curious about the salary.

I agree that it wasn't appropriate and maybe Geno never had to negotiate or compete for a job - some people are just that lucky...

Some of these responses are great! LOL.....so what is the salary and benefits...then, I'll send my resume....People, there are thousands and thousands of people that will work for food! In my hiring days, the person that asks this question out of the box has their resume go one place....the round file.

Submit your resume and sell yourself and how the company that is going to invest in your skill and creativeness will benefit. Then when and if they decide they need you, THEN you negotiate salary. That is unless you get a government job...then everything I said is not relevant.

Bob

This is very much what I was thinking. For those interested, I would not start the dialect in regards to salary. I would never walk into an interview and choose to begin the conversation with salary discussions or request that info in advance.

Both parties, will first have to determine the right fit. If you are fortunate to be choosen, you should receive an offer letter and go from there. Others might disagree and I am not trying to be rude, but this is just my suggestion on approaching any job.

Holly, good luck with your search, hope you find the perfect fit for CSI!

Resume submitted. I do hope your search for a candidate will come across me, but if not, good luck in finding the right person for the job.

Is there some type of office championship? Maybe a King of the Hill challenge...winner gets promotion and raise?? Is there a Diamond 9 footer in office?

I should of asked these things before I sent resume!

Soooo - if the winner gets promotion and raise, what does the loser get:eek:

On a side note, any AZ'ers should also let us know their name on AZ. I read a LOT of posts and you can get a 'feel' for a persons thought processes after a couple years of reading their posts.

(For several years, we have played with the idea of BCAPL players playing a game with our office staff - at the National event. That would be a lot of fun and could be a good fund raiser. The major problem is we are so short of time at the event. Maybe we can figure it out!!)

We could do a challenge a CSI staffer at 3 am on the Tuesday before team's start? Nope that won't work either...ok, maybe an old fashioned baseball thrown water dunking booth "Dunk A CSI Staffer"? Hey it's hot most of the time in May in Vegas...we could set up a dunking booth in the middle of the strip...how fun would that be :)

Well, you just filtered out all the possible applicants, j/k

I was going to ask the same question as another, how many diamond tables are in the office?

my weak attempt to bump the thread........

After reading this all I could picture was Alec Baldwin in Glengarry Glen Ross. "First place-Cadillac. Second place-steakknives. Third place-you're f'in fired!" In all seriousness, my wife and I are putting my resume together tonight.

resume sent, I for one would be honored to work for such a great company and a man like MARK GRIFFIN, those that have met the man know how much he works and truly cares about this great sport we all love.

I also think it is great that Holly posted the opening here, were else are you going to find so many people that love the sport this much.

I submitted my resume yesterday and notified Holly, earlier today in a pm, but after seeing Mark's request, I'm doing it publicly.

Best of luck to everyone.

I'm sure, with the "right" people on staff, this would be a doable event.

A Mosconi Cup type of event would definitely be fun to watch and participate in.

(forgive me Boss...)

Holly, please book with Wells Fargo now. Despite the number of people who know what a truly great job they do, If I voulunteer some referees for the dunk tank then you will need an armored car to carry the dunk tank proceeds...:lmao:
