A few quotes from those who want to discredit Chris' skills:

Perhaps you, Mr. Cubswin et al, are jerking me around, but if you guys sincerely doubt that a power draw-shot is useful to, for example, break up balls or for position play, maybe this video will enlighten you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oI1Q-8nfiBk

Love, peace and understanding.

I didn't discredit his skills, I simply don't see the use in it. All the video showed was another circus trick, and that drawing 18 ft is not as uncommon as you made it out to be. Mike at least controls his draw and aims to put it somewhere. Talk about discrediting skills, you just hurt Chris more than anyone else in this thread has.

If I needed to draw 18 feet, why wouldn't I just shoot a stop shot? Seems much easier. I figure if I can draw 9 feet, that is probably the most I would ever need.

It's obvious Chris can do it, but you're talking like you did it. But your video is no where to be seen. In fact you keep repeating "put up or shut up" - but all you've done so far is indicate that you know somebody that can do it. So, to use your own words - "shut up or put up" yourself.

We're waiting.

I think Peer needs to apologize for calling a group of people he doesn't know pussies. Surely this is nothing he would say if he were standing in a room with these "pussies"

My whole point was to illustrate that it is odd to start a whole thread to call out a user [okinawa77] for not having skills, and then not use your own skills to call him out. You accuse okinawa of hiding behind his name and making claims about his skills. But then you run and get your friend to show him up. IMO, this looks more like a playground scenario where a bully calls someone a name and that person runs to get their brother to stick up for them.

It's true that your friend can draw like a demon, but by your own admission he is only an APA 4. And then you state you wish you played as good as him. It's like saying "okinawa show me your draw, and since I can't do it either, here is a video of my friend." I don't think this is achieving your purpose.

Besides, IMO, those people that have "real" pool skills are on the circuit or on the road and not playing APA.

Mad props to the pickle for his stroke, but not to this thread.

I agree,

I read this thread yesterday and didn't reply but if I had I would have quoted td's earlier post.

Peer, what is your point? Your bud can pull the rock??
ok,,,now what?,,,and frankly wtf?

Are you really calling out another poster because you have a freind who has monster draw? What does that mean?...more importantly, what does it prove?

I'm in td's camp on this one.

YOU put up...or well...you know the rest...

just sayin,

I'm sure if Chris could video himself and knew how to put it up on YouTube, he would do this all by himself. Unfortunately, he does not. In fact, at the time when he pointed me to the thread where okinawa77 claimed he could draw two table length, Chris wasn't even a member of this forum.

In any case, you guys need to lighten up. You see, Chris being an APA 4 is just an inside joke for us who know how brilliant player he really is. Besides, smilies are for pussies.

So again -- to all you pussies -- you need to put up or shut up ;^)

And what are we suppose to put up exactly? ~shaking head and muttering something about teenage boys~ Anyway good luck with your challenge, whatever it may entail.

I shoot pool in the Bay Area. I will come down to Shoreline and play you some $100 sets if you like. I will put up....will you??? I'll play your friend too. We can even video tape it, and you can put that up on you tube. You put up or shut up:rolleyes:

I have personally had a situation come up where drawing the cueball 2 lengths WAS the best way to get shape to shoot the 8 in the same pocket as the last object ball because the other corner was blocked by my opponent's ball and I was dead straight in with tight pockets and no bank options. It WAS the shot and I'm sure in comes up a lot more than some in this thread think.

Why the old set of balls?

Shoreline Billiards has a new owner and the first thing he did was buy all new balls for the room. When we did this shot I didn't want to scar the new balls and an old set was behind the counter so we used those. Like I said, we will film another shot with a brand new set when Peer is around with the camera. I hit a few draw shots with a new set the other night and duplicated the draw distance but Peer wasn't around. I've watched the Nevel video a few times and I know he is a champion but I am still curious as to how far he or anybody else can draw. Not masse and not on a bar box. I think I made a mistake about the distance of my shot, it was 2 table lengths with the OB on the first diamond and the CB on the headstring.

Bumpy, I give up, I concede, I throw in the towel, you win !!!!!!!
I apologize for accusing you of using old heavy balls and a light
cue ball. You are obviously the king of all cue ball drawers.
Seriously, I think you and your camera man should go on the road.
With your talent, you could walk in any joint and challenge the whole
room to a "drawing contest". Take a big bankroll though, it might be
a long time between action. With $3 a gal. gas and $100 motels
its tough out there!!! Its all fun, You're probably an OK guy.
I suggest though, you work on rounding out other facets of your
game if you are only an APA4. Just a thought.
Good Luck,
Dick

I'm "hurting" Chris?! How old do think Chris is, or rather, how old are you?

"Put up" means to put up a video. "Shut up" means to not claim something you can't back up on video. I never claimed I can draw two table length, hence, I'm not in that video. Hope this clarifies it.

I'll play your friend. I'm putting up! Now someone else needs to put up, or shut up.

ABall<---------confused...when did the saying "put up or shut up" ever have anything to do with youtube videos??????? You should be careful with your words. It sounds like an invitation for gambling to me.

From what the railbirds are saying I'm going to like playing you. $100 sets are fine by me. Maybe we can have a drawing contest also. How about $100 for every diamond the loser loses by?

same thoughts

I was think of a similar thing a couple days ago, that is funny.

In fact, really liked the video. Enough to almost want to
create and post one myself, but I currently lack the means.

A pretty funny (to me anyway) thing happened the first night I saw the post, and later
I was practicing the power-draw, and I was still thinking about that video and challenge. While executing a long power-draw on a straight-in shot, the thought of "20 bucks an inch" for the contest came to mind. I sort of
involuntarily chuckled at the moment of the stroke.

The slight bending caused me to hit the cue ball much higher than I intended to, and the cue ball just stopped!
I think this falls in the category of, you had to be there, but to me it was priceless...

EDIT: I mean, you had to have seen how much power I put into, but with the (dead) stop shot result.

PM sent about matching up at California Billiards. No drawing contests:confused: ...just 9 ball, 10 ball, or one pocket.
