Too often I see people on this forum making all kinds of claims (usually about their superlative skills, etc.) Most recently was okinawa77's amazing draw skill:

> consistency on 1.5 table lengths.

So last night, while me and my buddy Chris (aka "bumpypickle" who might be a strong APA 4) were bullshitting, I got my video camera and captured a few of Chris' draw-shots... and I just put the result up on YouTube:

Hence, it's time to either shut up or put up.

Bumpypickle is hard on a shaft and can draw that rock rather well for a MABY APA4. I enjoyed your post. You do seem a little angry though. Today should be a pretty food day for ya. Chill out, shoot a little pool, have a brewski or two, :rolleyes: maybe get laid or paid. :D Have a great day peer.

guess my question is why do I want to draw a ball that hard?
 
Monster draw is a pretty thing to watch. Seems like he could use a little more control on that draw stroke though.

As for bragging about superlative skills, seems to me that cue ball control is the only one to really brag about. There of thousands of good pool players out there. Some can back it up and some can't. Be happy you know someone that can draw the heck out of the cue ball, ignore the braggers, and leave it at that.

And there's always the DCC to use as a forum to back up what people claim.
 
That's a hell of a stroke. I'll have to keep an eye out for you guys when I move out to Mountain View this summer.
 
LOL! Chris is a monster and looks very cute in his glasses. Please, please, please say hello to Chris for me - and yes, I would still play him 3-cushion with just a shaft ;) :eek:.

What impresses me with draw is the distance from CB to OB to begin with. If the 2 are 4 inches apart a table length draw is nothing special.... but when you're 7.. 8 diamonds away... it takes a good stroke to pull a table draw out of that.

A stroke I know I have... somewhere in there.....
 
Just because you've got a powerful stroke doesn't mean you can play. I've got a very powerful stroke but I'm not a strong player.

I was thinking the same thing. Only real use for a stroke or shot like that would be betting againt some local drunks you could do it and see how much you walk away with i guess? :confused:

Awesome stroke!! But no fair using a snooker cue ball. Ha ha, busted!!

Better to have one than not. If by some miracle you get better, then you'll be a good player with a powerful stroke.

I can't do that with my cue. Will break my cue in two pieces because of the wooden joint-thread.

POINTED OUT THAT THEY WERE USING A SNOOKER CUE BALL? YOU DON'T
NEED A STROKE, A SNOOKER CUE BALL WILL ALMOST BOUNCE BACK
18 FEET!!!

Speaking of using a snooker cueball, if you have a table at home or heading out to play pool, take a golfball along and use it as a cueball. You can bank object balls cross side and length of the table (18') using a golfball. Try drawing the golfball and tell us how much distance you got.

There was a local player that used to gamble pretty good if he could find someone to play with him using a golfball as the cueball.

( I carried one in my cue case for quite awhile, until I threw it off my balcony at a howling cat one night and never could find it again ) :)
