After my last two experiences... not for a while
I am going to just play petty money games for a while. Nothing over $50 a set.
I have got a lot to learn about setting things up.
If the boss of my store sets me up some for a little higher, I will consider those - I quite liked not being able to interact in the bargaining etc. had a lot more positives to take away from that situation.
The cash game with an English speaker was one of the most challenging and confusing things I've done. Especially the thoughts after... the 'what ifs' and the 'why they do or say that's?' - a real head spin.
Either way, it's back to the motherland to play on the giant green baize tables, and break building for a month or so...

I want to play as much as I can, guess that's why It annoyed me or got under my skin. Hopefully he accepts my offer to play him 1:! and can make his mind up from that... Otherwise, like you say, I won't sweat it, I'll find somewhere else to play and spend money
Be careful trying to figure stuff out in China, your head might explode. I just got done sending in photocopies of the BLANK pages of my passport so they can work on my 2023 Chinese taxes.
Never mind the fact that the taxes are filed under the wrong passport number, that didn’t bother them in the least. It’s the fact that they didn’t have copies of any blank pages.
Now, I don’t have any blank pages in that passport, so I had to grab a different passport and make copies of a few blank pages - they now appear to be happy.

I was on my way back from a tournament in L.A. when I stopped to stay in a small town in Utah. I stopped in at the local tavern that had about 4 tables, and they were having a tournament that night. No big deal, I think the entry was about $10 and I think it was limited to 16.
I played a few practice games about an hour before the start with the locals who were there to play. After seeing me play, and hearing I had just played in a tournament in California, nobody signed up and the tournament was cancelled.
The guy running the tournament told me it was the first time that had ever happened...

Unfortunate, but try to take it as a compliment, as obviously he has a high opinion of your game. Handicapped tournament or not, we always welcome higher skilled players to play in our tournaments, as it’s a learning experience for the regulars.Not sure how I feel about this... There are players in this tournament that I’ve played previously, and I would say are a pretty similar speed to myself… But this guy refused my participation…
Trying to decide whether this is just racism, and a polite way to say it’s not a foreigner friendly situation/event, or whether he has just taken some of the ‘highlights reel’ videos from my WeChat and greatly overestimated me…
Was trying to play some competitive games before heading back home for a holiday… but guess it’s straight back to getting battered by father on the green beize…

No definitely not and I didn’t get upset if a TD doesn’t want me in their tournament it doesn’t bother me. I play because I like to play and for the competition. I’m not trying to steal anyone’s money but I will take it if they want to give it away. Bangers got to have someplace to compete.
Racism happens, in every single country on this planet (none excepted). But the OP shouldn't figure that's the primary reason based on conjecture. Money is the issue 9 times out of ten. Want to get to the root of most problems, follow the money.
Everyone has printers now. Your smartphone is more secure than currency. Paper is easily manipulated, look how inflated the top schools are and how they are not producing the research at the intended level, based on their funding its outrageous to support them.
Let me research why I am not happy. Who can I blame? That is why science and math is needed.

Yeah. It sucks that a lot of A Players don't have a place to compete but if bangers don't have any fun there won't be any new players.
I doubt it's racism. Pool players, everywhere in the world, the better they get, the less opportunities they have. Its the way it is.
